After retirement, he fondly enjoyed his remaining years creating memories with Eva and her family travelling, celebrating events within the Portuguese community, and cheering for his favourite soccer team Benfica.

My condolences on the passing of John. I had the great privilege of working alongside John at the school. His strong work ethic, love of family, generosity and sense of style will be remembered. He was a wonderful man.
My condolences on the passing of John. I was very lucky to have worked with John at our school in Hesson and Listowel. He was a hard worker and always had time to chat about family. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
