elevated 5NRj1 Obituary

elevated 5NRj1 With huge broken hearts, we wish to share the sudden passing of Joe Spineto on March 26, 2024 at the age of 76.
Joe was born in Civitanova Del Sannio, Italy, and came to Canada with his mother when he was a young boy. He quickly adapted to life in Canada. He developed a love for sports and excelled at track and football.

elevated 5NRj1 At the age of 10, he met his soulmate Teresa through family relationships. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage. Joe was a very loving husband. He was an amazing, devoted father, coach and mentor to Angela (Mitchell) and a boastful, loving, proud Nonno to Peppi (Giuseppe) and Dante. He was a dependable brother-in-law to Rosina, Nino, Joe, Phyllis and Nella.

elevated 5NRj1 Joe will be with his parents, Michele and Angelina, and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, John, Tony, Tony, Tettina and Pauline.  Our prayer is that they will all be reunited in heaven.

elevated 5NRj1 He was a friend, an adviser, and a much-admired uncle to his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great-niece. He will be remembered by many family and friends as a caring person they could always rely on.

elevated 5NRj1 Joe’s career trajectory took several turns. He retired from his work as a project manager in restoration. A job he loved. Joe was a pillar in the community. He served as a school board trustee for the York Region Catholic District School Board. Joe also had a passion for basketball.  He was one of the founding directors of the York South Silver Knights Basketball Club, a long-time coach and a respected official for over 30 years.  He has mentored and touched the hearts and lives of many players over the years.
Joe had many interests. He loved fishing, gardening, boating and carried on the traditions of making sauce, sausage and wine. He loved life.  Joe’s greatest joy was the moments he spent with those he loved. Let us hold onto those moments.

elevated 5NRj1 The family requests that no flowers be sent. If desired, consider a donation to Jumpstart, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any organization of your choice.
