elevated hcYt3 With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of John Alfred Campitelli, in his 87th year, on Sunday February 3rd, 2019. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lena, his two daughters, Emily (Alan Paterson) and Patsy (Robert Ricciuti). He will be sorely missed by his grandchildren, Carolina, Johnny (Arlene Miron) and Christina. Brother to the late Fred (Margaret), Mary Ardellini (the late Claudio), Bruno (Diane), Vira Persichilli (George). John lived life on his own terms. He came from a generation of giants and told all the stories to prove it. He loved deep and loved to share what he loved. His pride for his family was immeasurable. He will be missed. I will miss your visits to the office. After so many years, you are family to me. You always had a smile that followed your greeting. But when you had a twinkle in your eye and a smirk to go with it we knew you were up to something. If we told you that you couldn’t do something, you said “I’ll do what I want”. And that’s how you lived life. On your terms. Your life was full with a close, loving family and friends that loved you. A life well lived. But one that we all wished had lasted longer. Everyone who met my Uncle Johnny would know that his persona was larger than life.
He wanted to live his life to the fullest and everything had to be on his terms. John strived for the stars and his drive and determination just made whatever he wanted happen.
He would stir up an office meeting the same way he would get everybody up on the dance floor. His laughter was infectious and he loved to see everyone join in and have a good time.
He loved his music, his food, his wine, and his stories. Most of all he loved to share all of these things with his family and friends.
The door to Lena and John’s home was always open and welcoming with generosity.
Whenever my Uncle Johnny greeted me, the sparkle in his eyes was as warm as his big smile. He always made me feel welcomed and very special to him. He always wanted to know everything about what my “girls” and I were up to and he also loved to tell me all about his projects and visions. Most of the time he wanted to tell me all about the wonderful things Emily and Allan, Patsy and Rob, Carolina, Christina, Johnny , and Frankie were doing. It was sheer joy for me to watch his face light up as he boasted about them. They gave him great joy and he couldn’t be more proud of them.
And finally, the one thing I will never forget is that in every conversation we ever had in all these years , he always repeated and confirmed the one truth that really was the reason for his being: “You know Lori,”he would say, “I’m still in love with your Aunt Lena more and more every day since the first day we met.”
I will miss you Uncle Johnny and never forget how important you were in my life. May God take you in palm of His hands and give you everlasting peace.
To Emily & Alan, Patsy & Robert, our deepest condolences to you and your families on the death of your dear Dad, Father-in-law and Nonno.
We read about it in the newspaper and felt the need to let you know how much others care. We know he is in a great place and smiling down on all of you, including your Mom. May he rest in peace and may your many memories help you through this time.

What a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. We are all still reeling from his loss but it is so good to know that he was loved by so many .
