elevated o64yh With deep sorrow, we announce that John Edward Fitzpatrick passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 75.

elevated o64yh John was born on October 9, 1949, to Frank and Rose Fitzpatrick in Derry, Northern Ireland. The family of 9 immigrated to Canada before wee Johnny’s 5th birthday and settled in Malton, Ontario shortly thereafter where they became a family of 10.

elevated o64yh Affectionately known to many as Uncle John, UJ and most recently Ghonny, he played a critical role in the lives of many members of his large extended family and neighbours. John is predeceased by his parents Frank and Rose Fitzpatrick, along with his brothers Terry and James and sisters Ursula, Kathleen, and Josephine. He is survived by his sister Angela and brother Michael, along with countless nieces and nephews and his partner Lorraine, all of whom he deeply adored.

elevated o64yh John had a passion for classic cars, hot rods and building model cars, amassing an impressive collection of kits that never seemed to be complete as he added to it over the years. If he couldn’t find the model he was looking for, he would take parts from different kits to create what he needed. He was an incredible builder and had an eye for detail that was unmatched by most. Whether he was creating custom model cars or working on various projects at home or for family and friends, he was always keeping himself busy throughout most of his life (and if there was ever a tool you needed, you knew who had it).

elevated o64yh Some of John’s fondest memories were travelling with his family, especially his trip to Hawaii in early 2020 with his sister Angela; he dreamed and talked about going to Hawaii for many years and that trip surpassed all his expectations and then some.

elevated o64yh John will be missed in more ways than we can count and leaves an immeasurable impact on the lives of many.

elevated o64yh He did not wish to have a funeral service. The family will receive visitors at the family home on Saturday, February 1st for those who wish to share their condolences.
