elevated Ve7Pj God called John’s name on July 10, 2025 at the age of 75. He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Giacinta and his parents Adolfo and Ofelia.
elevated Ve7Pj Loved by his daughters Paola (Mathew) and Tonia (Alfonso). Proud nonno to Aidan and Gianna. Beloved brother-in-law of Giulia and Gaetano and beloved brother of Giacinta, Maria, Carolina and Mario. Cherished zio of Adrianna and Veronica (Sam), Mary and Tony and many others in Italy.

I was a student of Mr. Ferrante’s during the 1985–1986 school year at St. Bruno. Although it feels like a lifetime ago, the memories remain vivid. His Grade 6 class was one of my favourites, and many of us who still keep in touch look back on it with great fondness. I clearly remember the day he announced the birth of his daughter who was named Tonia. He also coached our volleyball team and led us to win the school’s first-ever girls’ championship in 1986. He was overjoyed and celebrated with us by buying us all chocolate bars and chips on the way back to school. We were elated and filled with school pride.
Rest in peace, Mr. Ferrante. You were a truly wonderful teacher. I often say I wish my son could have been taught by some of the amazing teachers I had—Mr. Ferrante was one of the very best.

Dear Tonia and Paola, Your beautiful father was my beloved childhood friend. Our families were lifelong friends as both came from the same town in Italy and we spent seemingly endless hours together. I loved him in that great innocent way children do and admired him all my life for his kindness, wit, brilliance and just plain goodness. We had such a genuine affection for one another based on those happy chilhood memories was a deep connection. I am sorry I cannot be with you in person as you lay him to rest but know that he will always be in my heart as will you and all your families

My heartfelt condolences to the Ferrante family. Mr. Ferrante was my Grade 8 teacher at St. Martha in 2001, and I’ll always remember his deep love for literature and his kind, gentle presence.
