elevated K6EIQ It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John Ingarra on August 29, 2026, at Richmond Hill Hospital at the age of 72.
elevated K6EIQ Beloved Husband of 47 years to Johann Franchi Ingarra, John was a devoted and loving father to Jennifer, Anthony, and John Paul. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Nicolas. Reunited in heaven with his mother Giuseppina and father Antonino.
elevated K6EIQ John was the heart and soul of his family. His warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit brought joy wherever he went. Family was his greatest treasure, He travelled to many wonderful adventurous trips with his beloved wife Johann and he found immense happiness gathering loved ones together. His grandson, Nicolas, enriched his life and brought him immeasurable joy.
elevated K6EIQ John was the kind of father who was always there for his children, often before they even knew they needed him. He was humble to the core, willing to roll up his sleeves, work hard, and put his family’s needs before his own. He took great pride in watching his children grow and did everything he could to guide them, support them, and help them become strong, independent adults.
elevated K6EIQ Born in Sicily, John’s childhood was marked by hardship and adversity. He was one of the fortunate surviving children in the 1964 Stagnone Tragedy which claimed the lives of 16 boys and 1 young adult. This major catastrophic event left John with lasting trauma.
elevated K6EIQ The challenges he faced in his early years left a lasting impression, but they also helped shape the man he became- humble, strong, resilient and compassionate. Despite everything he endured, John remained a faithful servant, selfless man, always willing to lend a hand and help those around him without hesitation.
elevated K6EIQ His legacy is not defined by the hardship he endured, but by the love he gave. John will be remembered for his generous heart, his unwavering devotion to his family, his strength, and the kindness he showed to others.
elevated K6EIQ He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his extended family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. His legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

John, I have known you since I was 14 years old. It’s hard to put into words what it means to say goodbye to someone who has been part of almost my entire life.
Through all those years, you weren’t simply my brother-in-law — you were family, woven into so many memories and so many chapters of our lives.
It is difficult to imagine our family without you in it. I will remember the years we shared, the laughter, the stories, the good times and even the difficult ones — because together, they made up a lifetime.
Rest peacefully, John. You will always be a part of our family’s story, and you will never be forgotten.

My deepest condolences Johann to you and Jennifer, Anthony and John Paul. John was a character! I will miss our talks by the mailbox. John always had an endearing story to tell of his family. His love for Nicholas was infinite . I choose to remember his beautiful smile, sense of humor and compassionate heart. Rest in peace sweet friend.

I don’t think you’re ever prepared to lose your dad.
My dad, John, was one of the strongest yet humblest people I’ve ever known. He taught me how to be strong, but he also showed me what it means to love someone through the simple, everyday things.
He introduced me to sports, taught me how to drive standard, cheered me on, and was always in my corner. He never hesitated to drop everything for Nicolas, myself and his loved ones. He was there before I even knew I needed him
He called me every morning. He was my airport chauffeur, Nicolas’s best friend, and one of the constants in my life that I never imagined I’d have to live without. In his sickest moments he was strong for us and did not complain. He knew it was Nicolas’s birthday on August 28th so he waited until August 29 to pass peacefully in his sleep.
I’ll always smile when I think about his giardiniera — because no one could make it quite like Dad.
Grief also makes you miss the smallest things. The phone calls. His voice. Knowing he was there. Feeling safe. The comfort of having my dad in this world.
I’m going to carry an emptiness for the rest of my life. However, I will also carry his strength, love, and all the experiences he gave us.

My connection with John came through the many years I had the honour of playing Sunday softball on the Vipers in Vaughan. John was always so warm and welcoming. But also fiery and passionate with the amount of times I seen him get into with the umpires, haha. By the time I joined John had moved on from playing and took to the coaching role and manning the bbq. John always made sure everyone had enough to eat and drink. Taking the field will never feel the same.
