John Alexander (“Jack”) McIntyre was born on May 11, 1928 in Glasgow, Scotland. He passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on the morning of September 28, 2021 in Thornhill. He was 93 years old.
Jack migrated to Canada as a young man, where he met the love of his life – Monique Lamarche. They were happily married for 59 years. He is survived by his wife Monique, their 4 children (Brian and Robin, Heather and Thomas, Linda and Douglas, Kathleen and Richard) and their 9 grandchildren (Monique, Kevin, George, Christopher, Chantal, Julia, Nicole, Olivia and Cameron). He loved them all very, very much, and was so proud of each and every one of them! He will be greatly missed.
During his long career, Jack worked as a Civil Engineer, mostly in the property development field.
elevated CLJtS The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) 6:00 – 8: 00 p.m. on Friday October 1, 2021. A Private Mass of Christian burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph by invitation only. Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, friends may have to wait to pay their respects during the visitation period, we are inviting family and friends to a walk-through visitation only to pay their respects, offer condolences and then kindly exit the building to allow for others to enter.

A beautiful Mass to celebrate the life of a beautiful man. Who would have thought that that youth group back at St. Edward would have led to friendships that continue to this day. I saw Jack every week at the 4:30 Mass. He would always be smiling and always share a hello and some kind words every time that I saw him. Family, Faith and Friendship are the three words that described him best. He was simply a good man and that is the best compliment that one can be given. He truly lives on through all of you, his very special family. May God continue to bless you.
