elevated ALNMB
December 18, 1945 – May 12, 2020
elevated ALNMB It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Alderdice on Tuesday May 12th, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Judy McIlhargey. Dad to Mark (Allison), Hal (Karen) and Stephanie (Jamie). Gramps to Victoria, Steven, Lauren, Maya, Daniel and Charlie. He is survived by his siblings – Joanne (Fred), Joyce (Rod), Lori and Hal (Carol).
elevated ALNMB John had a larger than life personality. He had a smile for everyone and was loved by anyone he met. He was the type of person who held on to, and nurtured friendships, with the longest being 69 years. And was more like a brother to his cousins. He enjoyed squash at the Valhalla Club in Etobicoke, with hydration at the Valhalla bar after the game. John was an active member of the Taverners Golf group, and enjoyed many games with his close friends. He will be missed by his morning coffee buddies, who have been meeting since the ‘70’s.
elevated ALNMB Johns final days were in ICU and Palliative care in Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. Our thanks to the nurses for their caring service, and to the cleaners and food servers for the patience and kindness they showed.
elevated ALNMB In lieu of flowers, donations to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.
I miss you sweetheart. Rest in peace. Love Judy

John was always a special part of the April Winchester, VA, Green Jacket tournament. He won the Green Jacket a few years back and his smile as he was presented the jacket was fantastic! Myself and a bunch of other guys who regularly attend the Winchester golf outing will miss him dearly! Hit ’em long and straight, John.
On behalf of all of the staff at Roth IAMS Ltd. we pass on our deepest sympathies to John’s Family.
We are very saddened to hear of the passing of John. His dedication to our clients and our team was always appreciated as was his sense of humor. Here’s hoping all the golf courses are open up in heaven and he can play whenever he wants!
Rest in Peace John.
John was one of a kind, and a true friend we’ll never forget. He was always upbeat which really helped if you were down for any stupid reason. A bit of time with him and things were great again. We have so many good memories of going somewhere, maybe the pool parties or Winchester golf, and seeing John just made the day better. We are going to miss him big time…
Terry & Irene Allen
John was a dear friend. I enjoyed the daily phone calls deciding which bar to meet at after work. He would always cheer me up after a trying day. He was such a caring person and would do anything for you. We are going to miss him so much. He was such a special person.
Judy and family – our condolences. John was a cheerful, uplifting guy whenever we met over the past 55 years. We had good chats most recently both at Gord and Sue’s Christmas party and at Roy’s celebration of life at the golf club. He was a good, much admired friend and will be greatly missed.
We did not travel around the world in 80 days, but during the half century plus of our friendship, we had many memorable journeys including hockey, golf, cottage visits and many more. Those memories will remain with me forever. As we always said at the end of our times together “Until next time John A, see you soon – John S.” Thank you my friend, I miss you.
Flavio, Judy and family my condolences. John was a very nice guy and a dear friend I miss you my friend
I still find it so hard to believe he is gone. I miss him dearly.
