I have a hazy recollection of how John became involved with the Toronto tennis group, despite our shared year as classmates in 1961. When I started playing tennis with John in the early 1990s at the former Tennis Canada venue, he rapidly gained the nickname “steel wall 鋼牆” because of his consistently strong play. His style persisted for decades, and his precise, short angled cross-court shots consistently impressed us all. The tennis group frequently enjoyed Saturday breakfasts at 富記小炒, celebrating birthdays and engaging in amiable conversations and lively debates. He was a gifted poet, and his works brought joy to many of us. He will be fondly remembered as a wonderful friend and a passionate tennis player. May the Lord’s compassion embrace John in eternal peace and comfort those who loved him.
My condolences.
I still remember the moments from a year ago when I visited you in Toronto, as if it were yesterday. At that time, you were in great health. A large group of relatives gathered at Grace’s and Catherine’s homes, enjoying wonderful conversations, playing card games, and savoring the delicious dinner you specially prepared for us, especially your incredibly tasty lamb rack. It felt just like those warm scenes from our youth in Hong Kong when we would gather during the holidays—so nostalgic! I truly didn’t expect that you would suddenly be gone. It was so sudden. However, your charm and the encouragement you gave me will always be remembered in my heart. I will forever cherish the memories of you!
John and I have the same first name and last and we played well together as tennis partners for many years. We called ourselves 雙李(鯉) when we played together – such fond memories! May John’s soul rest in eternal peace in God’s grace.
My Condolences. I remember in late October the five of us had TEA at The One before my family trip. During my family trip on Board The Disney TREASURE cruise on 4th January we still exchange WhatsApp messages and photos! I do enjoy playing tennis with you over the past 30 years at Tennis Canada!
紹钧請為我們彼此同禱,願你早日到主懷中,得享永福。
七叔,願您在天國安息。謝謝你帶给我們的回憶。

30 years ago, John and I played double in the York region tennis tournament. We beat players in their 20’s . We became Champion two years. I stayed around the net while John protect our baseline. We had many fun and enjoyable matches in our book.
We had fun on our golf trip in Orlando with our buddies. Thanks for all the good times .
