It is with deeply saddened hearts that we share the news that Jorge Manuel De Sousa passed away peacefully at his Tansley Woods home surrounded by his family on October 1, 2025.
elevated XYkS6 Born September 18, 1940, in Lomba da Maia, Sao Miguel, Portugal to the late Senhorinha Cabral and Antonio Soares Sousa. He is survived and dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Maria Jesus. Jorge was a devoted father to Manny (Carla), Tony, David (Deceased), Liz (Tony) and Julie. Cherished Grandfather to Gabe, Caleb, Ellise, Sophia, Ava and Troy.
elevated XYkS6 Jorge met his soulmate at the age of 22. They’ve been inseparable since, displaying their love for one another through raising their children, entertaining family and friends and vacationing in Portugal. He came to Canada and created a beautiful life for his family from the ground up. He worked in construction and perfected his craft as a cement finisher. Jorge took pride in his job, building relationships at his workplace and learned multiple languages such as English and Italian.
elevated XYkS6 He enjoyed watching sports and was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan. He was also an avid Pro-Line player, and this led to him creating a detailed catalogue of sport statistics in his spare time.
elevated XYkS6 He will be dearly missed by his family and leaves behind an abundance of stories and memories that his family and friends will forever cherish. His passing will be deeply felt by many, and his life will be joyously remembered and long celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to have shared in it.
elevated XYkS6 Many thanks to all the caring PSWs, nurses, and doctors, at the Village of Tansley Woods, they ensured that Jorge’s stay was the best that it could be.
