elevated N0Wn5 With profound sadness, the family announces the passing of Jose Francisco Carvalho on July 24, 2026, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 73.
elevated N0Wn5 Jose was born on March 15, 1953, in Capelas, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He carried the values of his homeland throughout his life, embracing hard work, kindness, generosity, and a deep love for his family and community.
elevated N0Wn5 Beloved husband of Carmelia, Jose was the devoted and loving father of Steven, Stanley (Andreia), and Jason (Catia). He was an incredibly proud and cherished Avô to Kylie, Chloe, Siena, Sabrina, and Alessia, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and creating treasured memories together.
elevated N0Wn5 Jose is lovingly remembered by his siblings Mario Jorge, Margarida, and Maria dos Anjos. Also remembered by his brother Luis who passed away on the same day. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
elevated N0Wn5 Jose spent his life working for Welded Tube of Canada for 41 years and was a Lead Hand for 40 of those years. He built friendships and recruited so many family and friends to Welded Tube. His leadership did not go Unnoticed as he always had the best interest of the company at heart.
elevated N0Wn5 A man of many passions, Jose found great happiness on the soccer field and in the garden, where his care and dedication reflected the pride, he took in everything he did. He was an excellent cook who delighted in preparing meals that brought family and friends together around the table. Jose was deeply committed to the Portuguese community, generously giving his time and energy to support and strengthen the community he loved. Above all else, he was a devoted family man whose greatest pride was the love he shared with those closest to him.
elevated N0Wn5 One of Jose’s greatest lifelong passions was his unwavering devotion to Sporting Clube de Portugal (Sporting CP). Whether cheering from home or celebrating victories with fellow supporters, his love for his beloved club was a defining part of who he was and brought him endless joy.
elevated N0Wn5 Jose will be remembered for his warm heart, welcoming smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of kindness, devotion, and pride in his Portuguese heritage will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Jose was truly one of the kindest people our family has ever met. We were privileged to have him and Carmelia as our neighbours the past few years. His kindness, generosity, and care for all of his neighbours was never taken for granted, and we are so appreciative of his phenomenal cooking that he so often shared. We are deeply and truly sorry about the news of his passing, and offer our deepest condolences to the entire family during these trying times. He often talked about his granddaughters and sons, and his love of soccer. Most of all, he talked about his amazing wife that he made sure we all knew he cherished. We will always remember Joe in gratitude for being an amazing neighbour, friend, chef, and an example of what a very loving and devoted husband looks like, to Carmela. Our sympathies and prayers are with the entire family.
