elevated zqnVS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Giuseppe (Joseph) Paulo Ricchio, at the age of 74.
Joseph was born on March 10, 1952, in San Vincenzo La Costa, Calabria, Italy, to his parents, Rita Veltri and Domenico Ricchio. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dorelle, and a caring and loving father to his children, Rita and Paul. He was a proud grandfather to his only grandchild, Charlotte, who brought him immense joy.
Joseph cherished the simple pleasures in life. When he was able, he enjoyed fishing and golf. He loved good cheese and wine, playing board games with family, getting dressed up for a nice dinner, and spending time at the family cottage. He also loved to travel, and two of his favourite trips were to Vancouver and Calgary, where he was especially captivated by the beauty of the mountains he loved so much. He was especially happy that he had the opportunity to take those trips in the last two years before his illness progressed, creating memories that he and his family would treasure forever.
Above all, Joseph was a family man. He loved his wife, children and granddaughter deeply and took great pride in his family. He will be remembered for the love he gave, the traditions he created, and the many special memories shared around the dinner table, at the cottage, and together as a family.
Joseph will be dearly missed by his wife, Dorelle; his children, Rita and Paul; his granddaughter, Charlotte; his brothers, Jack and John; and his extended family and many friends.
After a courageous illness, Joseph passed surrounded by the love of his family. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many moments they shared together.
God sees when the footsteps falter, when the pathway has grown too steep. Then He touches the weary eyelids and gives His dear one sleep.
May he rest in peace, forever loved and deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory to Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre would be gratefully appreciated. Sunnybrook Donation Link
