With profound sadness and faith in the Resurrection, we announce the passing of Joseph Tarasius Louis D’Souza who entered into eternal rest on June 30th 2026 at the age of 67. Known by many as Joe, Tarasius or Terry.
elevated nBs3I Joseph was a devoted Catholic Goan whose life reflected a deep love for God, family, and community. He had a strong sense of humor and a love for adventure. Joseph was always quick to help in any way possible, giving, without asking in return and was loved by many. Through prayer, service, and unwavering faith, he touched the lives of everyone around him and served as a source of strength, wisdom, and compassion to all who knew him.
elevated nBs3I Joseph was the beloved husband of June (nee Dantas) for 33 years and a loving parent to Averil, Ann-May & Aaron. He was a cherished son to Walter and Theresa and a loving brother to Leonard.
elevated nBs3I Throughout his life, Joseph found joy in sports, fixing things, being outdoors, volunteering with the parish, G.O.A., Knights of Columbus, and travelling. Above all, he treasured time spent with family including many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He remained steadfast in faith, always trusting in God’s love and mercy.
elevated nBs3I The family takes comfort in the words of Christ: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, shall live.” (John 11:25)
elevated nBs3I May the angels lead him into paradise, and may he rest in the peace of Christ.

Sending lots of love to Averil, Ann-May, Aaron and June. Terry was always very kind to me and I’m blessed to have gotten to see him when I was in town last. His energy never diminished, even through all struggles. He’ll live on forever through his strong, loving children. While it’s a sad time, may who he was and what he stood for never be forgotten.
I love you Uncle Terry. You were a strong positive male role model to look up to during my youth, and even till this day!
Your patience, humble nature, strength, refined mannerisms, consideration for others, DIY handyman abilities, sense of humor and devotion to your family all inspired me to become a better man and your memory will live within my heart. No doubt, your legacy will continue to inspire me when I one day have a family of my own.

Terry would fondly greet me “hello Aunty Augusta” with a mischievous smile whenever we met at occasions. I remember him being kind, very helpful, had a great sense of humour and had a deep love for his family. He will be dearly missed!
When we went to see Terry shortly before he passed, he was struggling to get the words out, in discomfort but was determined to communicate with us. He bore his heavy cross with a smile, which showed his deep Faith in God.
