It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Josephine Brancato, at the age of 96 in Newmarket, surrounded by the love of her family.
elevated Cc6qa She is predeceased by her cherished husband, Antonino Brancato (April 2, 1997). Josephine was a devoted and loving mother to Tina (the late Michael) Sgambelluri, Vera (Carmine) Murano, Carmela Brancato, Corrado Brancato, and Maria (Frank Roudbari) Brancato.
elevated Cc6qa She was the adored Nana of Angela, Mariangela, Anthony, Elizabeth, Joseph, Cristina, Sarah, Anthony, Giancarlo, Natalie, Christina, Julia, Nino, Michael, and Sara, and cherished Gran-Nana to Giuseppe, Sophia, Michael, Emma, Elizabeth, Eleanora, Ariella, Dante, Massimo, Capri, Ilaria, Scarlet, Tesora, and Christian.
elevated Cc6qa Josephine is lovingly remembered by her sisters Marie, Mary, Margaret, and her sister-in-law Sharon.
elevated Cc6qa Her legacy lives on in the beautiful blankets she created—each one a reminder of her kindness, her creativity, and the quiet ways she showed love. Even though she is gone, her warmth remains with us: in every thread, in every memory.
elevated Cc6qa Josephine’s lifelong love of books defined her devotion to literature. In her memory, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation.
