RIP Rose. You have been a good sister-in-law and a friend. May the Angels come to gently guide you home where you will take your eternal rest. You have been a very strong person both in life and in sickness and you peacefully left us for a better place and now you are safe in the arms of Jesus.
Rest in eternal peace Ms. Wong
Dearest Charles, Zy and Family…Although no words can ease the pain of your loss, let the beautiful memories of Ms. Wong that have been shared throughout the years, bring you some peace and comfort. Your friends and family hold you close in prayer.
I first became aware of my cousin Rose when I was about 6 years old and she, a teenager in Corner Shop. I remember her as always having a pleasant demeanor and a smile that lights up a room. She was always thoughtful and kind to me, and through the years we developed a special bond. We were never far apart, though her immigration to the US preceeded mine. Her family was of foremost importance to her and this was expressed on many levels. She was always quick with family stories and important tidbits that were lost with time. I remember us lounging under a palm tree on a quiet Florida beach, around 1990, when she suddenly made the salient point that there were three generations present, between her, myself and Mary, sitting in the shade of that tree, sheltering from the blazing sun. It was an important observation that she thought we should know.
I think of many things when I reflect on my dearest cousin, some consequential, some inconsequential…but always memorable…in her later years in Sarasota, when I visited we would do daily walks in the suburbs, as Miss Rose believed in keeping a healthy regimen. Miss Rose’s head was always on a swivel as she was mindful of the snakes. One day she finally stepped on a garden variety, and the results were predictable… that episode also resulted in much shorter routes. After that we did more driving.
Although we have lost an irreplaceable icon, her spirit will always remain omnipresent amongst us. I will grieve when I think of her, but as time passes, memories of her, will also make me smile.
May perpetual peace be yours, my dearest cousin.

Wonderful memories of summers in New York at Aunt Rose’s will be with me forever. I looked forward to our visit every year and she welcomed us, and her home became ours. I remember her laugh, her gentle and giving spirit and her shake n bake chicken and Mac and cheese 😊. Aunt Rose ran her race and now it’s time to rest. Sleep well Aunt Rose and may God’s perpetual light shine upon you. Condolences and prayers to Carl, Allan, James and Charles, Marcia, Satoko and Mary, their families and the rest of her family and friends 🙏
