elevated FPK5h Obituary
Kenneth John Albert McCaw, age 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Oct 28, 2026, following a prolonged illness.
elevated FPK5h Beloved son of the late Isaac and Sarah McCaw, Ken was the cherished and devoted partner of Rosa Calleri, a proud and caring father to Jonathan Calleri and his wife, Felicia and an adoring Grandpa to Lucas and Sophia, who brought him endless smiles.
elevated FPK5h Ken is survived by his brother, Samuel McCaw, and sister-in-law, Leslie, of Ennismore, as well as extended family members Vito Cramarossa and his wife, Gina, of Markham. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
elevated FPK5h Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on August 26, 1957, Ken immigrated to Canada as an infant aboard the Canadian Pacific liner Empress of England. He grew up in Toronto’s Victoria Village community and carried a deep pride in his Irish heritage throughout his life. He especially enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with friends, a Guinness in hand, at his favorite local British pub.
elevated FPK5h Ken retired from IBM Canada Ltd. in 2016 after a distinguished 39-year career. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars, particularly his treasured 1976 Firebird Trans Am. He also enjoyed collecting memorabilia, tackling home improvement projects, attending car shows and fishing at Balsam Lake and in the Big Chute area of Coldwater. An avid Formula 1 racing enthusiast, he much preferred watching the races to cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
elevated FPK5h Affectionately nicknamed “Geppetto” for his handyman skills and “Laptop” for his tendency to be found seated in front of a computer, Ken will be fondly remembered for his kindness, wisdom, witty sense of humor, memorable expressions, and, of course, his trademark stubbornness.
elevated FPK5h Nothing brought Ken greater happiness than spending time with family and friends. Whether gathered on a patio, at a cottage, or in the backyard, he loved celebrating life’s special moments over a barbecue, sharing stories, laughter, and good company.
elevated FPK5h Ken fought courageously until the very end. His wish was that he be remembered not for the way his life ended, but for the way he lived and for the profound impact he had on the lives of all those fortunate enough to know and love him. He now reunites with his beloved canine companion, Halo, who held a very special place in his heart.
elevated FPK5h The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre and The Roxborough Retirement Assisted Residence for their compassionate care, kindness, and unwavering support.
elevated FPK5h In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Southlake Health Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Today is a very sad day!
Ken wasn’t just someone I worked with. He was a mentor, a trusted sounding board and a good friend. I’m grateful for the years we shared, the conversations we had, and the impact he had on my life.
Ken, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Farewell for now my good friend. We enjoyed so many good times together both at work and play that I will never forget. I know that you have finally found peace but you will be greatly missed.
We were deeply saddened to learn of Ken’s passing. He was one of those special people who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. We always enjoyed our conversations and will remember his kindness, generosity and humor. Our hearts go out to the family during this difficult time. He will be sincerely missed.
I recall Ken from our joint early days in IBM Canada’s C&TS organization. I remember him being meticulous about his suit and tie men’s wear along with his carefully brushed hair. Ken was easy to approach, discuss concerns with and a virtual fountain of information. One day, Ken took great pride at introducing me to his muscle-car Firebird Trans AM.
For those in seeking solace, I offer this
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
from a gravestone in Ireland.
Sincere condolences to the immediate and extended families. May Ken rest in peace.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Ken’s passing
We hope that the memories that you have shared will bring you comfort at this difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. 🙏🏿
I have a lot of fond memories of Ken. Close family friends, always loved hosting in the great backyard and pool. As a kid, I always thought Ken was a good mix of fun, and structure. I can still hear his laugh and joy when our families got together. Rest easy Ken! You will be missed. My condolences go out to Rosa, Jonathan and his whole family during this difficult time.
Ken you were always a bright spot in my day. I won’t say goodbye, just ‘Until we meet again my friend’. Crash
Reading this with sadness. Have great memories of Ken, my cousin, when he holidayed us at the farm in Northern Ireland and at the North Coast. Deepest condolences from Aunt Anna and the Armstrong family. Rhonda
I worked under Ken’s direct management at IBM for 5 years. He was a great manager, always accommodating and understanding. Fun to be around. Always responded with “I am not a horse” when I said Hey to grab his attention. very sad news and a big loss. my prayer goes to the family.
