elevated hvIqM May 16, 1941-November 8, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Laura, at the age of 79. She passed away at her long-term care home Shepherd Village due to Covid-19.
elevated hvIqM Loving mother of daughter Kim (Mike) and son Greg (Soo). Very proud grandma of her grandsons Michael, Robert, and Cole. Special “mom” to her furry children Angel Face, Precious, and Pebbles. Predeceased by her parents Philibert and Alma Legere (nee Vienneau); brothers Madore and Romeo and sister Juliette. Survived by her brother Ronnie (Karen) and brother-in-law Edmund. She will be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
elevated hvIqM Mom was born and raised in Minto, New Brunswick and moved to the big city of Toronto, Ontario when she was 15 years old. She had many jobs throughout the years, but she mostly had the important job of mom and homemaker. Mom had many passions over the years. She was an avid bingo player; #1 fan of Elvis Presley and of country music; a compassionate animal lover and rescuer; loved her cheeseburgers, fries with gravy, ice cold Pepsi, and a side order of toast; anything the colour purple; and meticulously maintaining her long hard fingernails always painted to match her outfits. Mom greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending weekly mass/service.
elevated hvIqM In Mom’s later years she was diagnosed with Dementia. She continued as best she could to be independent and to continue doing the things she loved doing, especially going to the mall, chatting with friends, watching her “shows”, and gushing over any baby or animal who crossed her path. Thank you to the staff at Shepherd Village for her care, particularly Martha her pharmacist, Nicole at the Day Program, her favourite PSWs Vera and Marissa, and the Lodge Chaplain Tahseen.
elevated hvIqM Interment will take place with a private family service at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, and in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Toronto Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. In the echo of a favourite Randy Travis song, we are going to “love you forever and ever, amen.” Mom, you will be greatly missed.
Laura, you were such a funny and sweet lady. I enjoyed our many lunches out, doing puzzles, chats over the phone, and your friendship over the years. Thank you for being a great comfort to me when my mum passed away, you were truly an angel during that difficult time, and I’m thankful for having known you. Rest In Peace Laura, I know you’re up there taking care of all the cats and dogs. Until we meet again…. XO
My deepest sympathies go out to the whole family.
Our deepest condolences to all family and friends. May she Rest In Peace.

Dear Kim, Mike, Michael and Robert,
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your dear mother/grandmother. I met her only a few times, but vividly remember always smiling and laughing in her company. May you find some comfort in knowing she is at peace and in our Lord’s precious arms. Sending you all my love and heartfelt sympathy.
I have so many fond memories from my youth of laughing, sharing dinners (especially melted cheese whiz on broccoli YUM), fun bingo stories and Pipere the fly ❤️… you always shared a kind word and a giggle with me … love to your family who will miss you terribly and God bless … Rest In Peace
Our deepest sympathies to the Legere and Zwarich families.
Aunt Laura was a precious part of the family, even if we didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her over the years.
Her warm smiles were only a fraction of her tender and caring heart and soul.
Now she can be embraced in the arms of her parents.
RIP sweet lady. ❤️ Little Laura
My sincere condolences to you and your family. She made an impact on everyone she met including me. Her bingo card is fully dabbed and now she can Rest In Peace.
Dear Kim, Mike, Michael and Robert,
We are so very sorry to hear about the sad passing of your Mom and Grandma. I will always remember her as being a proud French-Canadian, and how happy and passionate she was about what she loved, especially her grandchildren, her pets, and her decadent foods! It’s always difficult to lose a parent or grandparent, but we hope that the many happy memories you have of her will bring you comfort.
May she rest in peace with the Lord who she loved so much.
You are all in our thoughts–sending much love. xo
Dear Kim, Mike, Michael and Robert,
Parents are “cornerstones” in our life. Once gone, no matter how old we are, we will be forever slightly off balance, that cornerstone deeply missed. To have wonderful loving memories to hold onto is the best condolence. Especially for you Kim. That bond between mother and daughter is undeniable and defines us at our essence. We hope that your many memories comfort you during this difficult time. And we, your loving family are here, even from afar to listen. From the Town of Ajax all the way out to your Mom’s home province of New Brunswick, know you are loved and are in our thoughts.
My deepest condolences to all the family in the passing of Laura at this difficult time. I will remember her as always a pleasure to talk with and happy and bubbly. Treasure the memories of happy times everyone enjoyed with her.
Lots of love Auntie Lidia Natale
Our wholehearted sympathies to you Kim and to your lovely family members❤️
I never met your mom but I can tell how wonderful she must have been just by knowing you. We reflect the best parts of our parents thanks to the loving way they raised us. Take comfort in your memories as you grieve.
Sending nothing but love and prayers during this time of sadness. May your heart be filled with all the beautiful memories you have of her. Never forget those as they will be what helps get you through this extremely difficult time.
I never got the privilege of meeting your mom either, but it appears the best of her was in you Kim. No matter the age, it’s never easy losing your mom, the North star of a family. The fact that she loved music, fries and manicures makes me wish I could have hung out with her. I hope you find comfort in the outpouring of love and support of the many lives she touched.
Our deepest condolences Kim. While it is very difficult to lose our parents from this world, you are blessed with a strong faith and cherished memories, to keep your Mom alive in your heart. You are in our thoughts
