elevated 420nl Obituary
elevated 420nl Lena Greco (Badali) passed away peacefully on June 22, 2021 at the age of 98 years. Lena was pre-deceased by her siblings and in-laws. Lena’s family is comforted knowing that she is now reunited with her loving husband Tony (1990). Lena was the cherished mother of Jo (Fred Horsley), Mary (Adrian Bassett), Joseph and daughter-in-law, Antonietta. Lena is survived by her 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mom was a woman of deep faith, an attentive, caring mother and grandmother and a loyal friend. Mom always had an open door policy (“coffee and dessert”) and could light up any room. Our family is forever grateful to all the staff at Amica Swan Lake. The PSW’s provided care to our Mom with love and dignity. Special thank you to, Imelda, Mom’s best friend and caregiver for over 8 years. Thank you, also, to Dr. Weissberger, for his compassion and kindness. Due to Covid restrictions, visitation is limited to Friday, June 25 from 9-10:30 am. at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, 191 Wade Gate, Thornhill, Ontario, followed by a private funeral Mass at 11 am. Private family interment to follow at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery.
Jo, Mary, Joe and families. We were saddened to hear of your mothers passing…. What a wonderful caring woman she was…. We always talk about the time she invited us over for coffee and to see her condo (she was SO proud of her beautiful place). When we got there she had coffee and a plate full of beautiful treats…. It was so sweet. We are so thankful to have gotten to know her! She raised a beautiful family…. She lives on
Jo, Mary, Joe, and families, I am so truly sad to hear about Aunt Lena’s passing. I’ve had so many wonderful visits with her over the years – from our family reunions in her backyard as a child, to her condo in Florida, to dinners in Markham, and have cherished her warmth, kindness, and love for Isabella, Lily, and myself. I couldn’t wait every year to see her at our reunion and she will be truly missed. I am sending my love and condolences to the entire family. xx
Dear Mary, Jo and family, I am so saddened at the loss of your beautiful mother. She was such a dear and loving friend to both Dave and I. We always enjoyed our times that we spent together. Dave loved her as I did. She had a wonderful fun life and a wonderful family. (Maybe Dave and she will have a afternoon tea together). Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all the family. Love, Barb

Dear Mary and Adrian…..I fondly remember your Mom as a strong woman who knew what she wanted. She was always very kind to me whether it be when I was still a teenager and later in life..as we all grew older. I can fully understand how people were drawn to her. She was such a lively person…full of energy and will be missed not just by me but by many. Lots of love, Barb
