elevated CKJ0q Obituary
elevated CKJ0q It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard Di Novo on September 20, 2025, at Bethany Lodge Long Term Care, surrounded by his loving daughters, at the age of 89. Born on March 21, 1936 in Termini Imerese, Sicily, Italy to parents Vincenzo and Anna. Beloved husband of Maria for 66 years. Loving father of Anna (Biagio) and Rosaria (Giuseppe). Proud Nonno of Robert (Stephanie), Salvatore (Elena), Anthony (Emily), Concetta (Marc) and Michael (Alexandra). Adored bisnonno of Isabella, Mattea, Carlo, Joseph and Florence. Devoted brother of Giuseppina, Maria and Domenic.
elevated CKJ0q Leonard was an entrepreneur, florist, butcher, grocer, merchant, and gentleman farmer. He purchased a grocery store before successfully launching a fruit and vegetable wholesale business, Leonard Wholesale, which still operates today. After a fulfilling career, he retired early to spend winters in Florida, summers farming his land in Markham, and plenty of time with his family. He was devoted to his faith, praying the rosary daily.
elevated CKJ0q We would like to thank the devoted staff at Bethany lodge, and our caregivers, who treated Leonard like their own family.
elevated CKJ0q Leonard will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of his many extended family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
elevated CKJ0q Your thoughts and kindness are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
elevated CKJ0q Memorial donations in honour of Leonard Di Novo can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation

Our deep & sincere condolences for the loss of your dear father.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers .
To the entire Di Nivo, Cerami and Curcio families, I send my deepest condolences, and feel a deep sense of loss at the passing of such a larger than life man I was lucky enough to be around for the past 5+ decades. I will treasure the many memories I have of being with the family and in Leonard’s company. Leonard even gave me my first job at the store on Parliament when I was just 14.
I am so sorry I won’t be able to be with you all over the next few days, but I will dedicate the rest of my journey to Nonno’s memory, and send you all my love.

I’m so sorry to hear Mr Di Novo passed away. My heartfelt condolences to his wife, daughters, grandchildren, siblings and their families. May memories of happier times spent together comfort you now.
Mr Di Novo was quite a remarkable man. I really respected and admired him. He had a bigger than life persona and was a fountain of information and I enjoyed listening to him. I will cherish the memories of holiday celebrations our families spent together. I’m so glad I got to see him last week. I can still feel him tightly squeezing my hand. I didn’t know then it was a final goodbye.
I know in heaven now Mr Dinovo you have a new audience. I can imagine you talking up a storm catching my dad up on all he has missed since he passed, like your grandchildrens’ weddings and the birth of all your great grandchildren.
Rest in peace Mr Di Novo.
In loving memory, gratitude and appreciation. You will forever be missed.
