Lesa Anne (nee Zalucky) O’Neill
October 16, 1954 – January 8, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Lesa (nee Zalucky) O’Neill, on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, at the age of 71.

elevated rPfhB Known to those closest to her as “Auntie Lee”, Lesa will be remembered by her family and friends as a beautiful woman with an artist’s soul and a gentle, kind nature. Auntie Lee had a genuine smile and a warm heart. She was such a special part of our birthday, holiday and family celebrations, holding a special place in her heart for her great-nieces and nephews.

elevated rPfhB Her quest for knowledge was as deep and relentless as her passion for debate; especially on topics like history, politics and religion. Always, striving for a life of spiritual balance, Lee found beauty in the simple things, like reading, time spent gardening, or quality time spent with her cats. She often referred to them to as her “kids” and shared a special bond with Buddy, Holly, Coco and Mira, smiling brightest when she was telling stories about them.

elevated rPfhB Auntie Lee loved her personal space as much as her family and friends, getting lost in worlds of various artistic expressions and having many adventures, known only to a few. Throughout her life, no matter what happened, Lee navigated the waters as the sole captain of her ship, always finding her way back to peace through gardening, meditation, expressions of art and time spent with her cats.

elevated rPfhB Lesa will be greatly missed, nevertheless she loved her family with as much passion as she lived and expressed through art; her memory will live on through all of them. She is survived by her brother Michael Cwihun (Nazzarena), her nieces, Michelle (Otis), Nicole (Tom), her nephew Matthew, and her great nephew and nieces, Ethan, Jahzarah and Serena. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicola and Anastasia Zalucky and her brother, Ihor.

elevated rPfhB A memorial to celebrate the life of Lesa O’Neill will be held at Assumption Catholic Funeral Home on Monday, January 19th, 2026.

elevated rPfhB Viewing for family and friends from 4pm-6pm, with funeral service to follow at 6pm.
