It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Lester on February 3, 2025, in Richmond Hill at the age of 78. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica, to Thomas Garnett and Winnifred Garnett (née Taylor). Lester is predeceased by his siblings; Leroy Garnett, Bill Garnett, Tony Garnett and Marie Garnett. He is survived by his siblings; Dorothy Garnett, Cecile Garnett, Carol Garnett, Christopher (Leslie) Garnett, and Vilma Garnett.
elevated cK4Hj Beloved husband to Claudette Garnett for 54 wonderful years. Loving father to Andrea (Nathan) Garnett Sherlock, Chantal Garnett, Jeanine (Cristoven) Garnett, and Shawna Garnett. Cherished grandpa to Racquel, Ashley, Thomas, and Maxwell. Proud fur grandparent to Mango and Jackson. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dedicated and loyal friend to many.

He leaves us with an abundance of cherished memories, and we will be forever inspired by his spirit, resilience, and kindness. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all. Our sincere condolences to Claudette and the rest of the Garnett family on Lester’s passing. As we noted on the day after he died:
A light has gone out from our lives; from the life of his family and from the lives of his friends.
We are sad that he has left us, but are happy that our paths crossed in this very transient life.
What remains are the memories. They began in 1968 when I (Veronica) first met Lester until the very end when EJ visited him at home in January. It was a friendship between our two families for over five decades.
So today, we celebrate the life of a decent man, a good husband, father, friend and one who demonstrated how to walk humbly with his God. RIP, dear brother.
