elevated UOlQM Obituary
It is with deep love and heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lidia Maria Sylvestre (Spada) on May 3, 2026, at Southlake Health Hospital.

elevated UOlQM A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and guiding presence, Lidia shared an extraordinary 73 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Andrew Sylvestre. Together, they built a life defined by enduring love, quiet strength, and an unwavering commitment to family.

elevated UOlQM She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Andrew; her children Andrew Jr. (Maria) and Michael (Clare); and her cherished grandchildren Lidia Jr., Andre, Mathew (Alicia), Michael Jr. (Polina), Samantha (Jay), and Sabrina (Liam). She was also the proud great-grandmother of Myles. Her family was at the centre of her world and remains the truest reflection of her life.

elevated UOlQM Born and raised in Montreal, Lidia and Andrew later moved to Toronto to join their sons in building their family business. She was a co-founder of Reebok Canada and ESE Sports Company Limited, helping shape a successful chapter defined by vision, partnership, and dedication. She also served as past president of the CIBPA Ladies’ Auxiliary and quietly supported many charitable causes, particularly those focused on helping young women.

elevated UOlQM Lidia lived with quiet confidence and unmistakable elegance. She had a deep appreciation for theatre, opera, ballroom dancing, travel, and fashion and carried herself with natural grace and a refined sense of style reflected in the life she created.

elevated UOlQM She loved to entertain and took great pride in opening her home to family and friends. Whether for milestone celebrations or simple gatherings, she created a place where people came together, traditions were honoured, and meaningful memories were made. These moments will continue to live on in the hearts of all who shared them.

elevated UOlQM She was predeceased by her parents, Ursilia and Antonino Spada, and her siblings Lionel, Maryanne, and Armida. She is survived by her sister, Alda Nuss.

elevated UOlQM The family extends their sincere gratitude for the kindness, support, and heartfelt prayers received during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southlake Health Foundation or to a charity of your choice.

elevated UOlQM “There is no night without a dawning,

elevated UOlQM no winter without a spring,

elevated UOlQM and beyond life’s quiet horizon,

elevated UOlQM our hearts will rise and sing.

elevated UOlQM For those who leave us for a while

elevated UOlQM have only gone ahead,

elevated UOlQM from a weary world of care

elevated UOlQM to a place of peace instead.”
