elevated I389z Obituary
elevated I389z It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lillian Marjorie Laporte on Sunday July 24 , 2022 at the age of 49 after a brief battle with cancer. Lillian’s friendships date back to her childhood, through high school and in the workplace- everyone described her as a kind and loving soul. Her infectious laugh and bright smile were her trademark, while her ability to always see the best in others kept her diverse friendship circles both wide and close. Many comment on Lillian’s love for socializing with friends; she was always ready to celebrate others with her signature laugh and long flowing curls. Lillian worked for 30 years at Rogers Communications, where she moved up the ranks from front desk receptionist to a Senior Manager. Her colleagues knew her as a generous and inclusive leader, always supportive of others both in their professional and personal lives. For several years she organized the company wide Family Holiday Party, bringing together friends and family for a joyous occasion.
elevated I389z Lillian gave birth to her life’s joy and happiness, daughter Alexandra, on March 10, 2016. She devoted her life to Alexandra, even overcoming her own fear of water to take Mom and Tots swim class! Her ability to easily connect with others is a key reason why a village of close friends remain steadfastly committed to keeping Lillian’s memory alive for her precious daughter.
elevated I389z Lillian is survived by her daughter, mother (Lucille), her sister (Audrey), brother (Kevin), aunt (Sarah), nephew (Nathan) and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her father (Ralph).
elevated I389z In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a scholarship fund for her daughter Alexandra (https://www.givesendgo.com/G3K3H).
This is not goodbye Lilly. This is wishing you a beautiful journey to your final destination, where I know you will be looking down on your loved ones and protecting them. Adieu Lilly. Keep shining because you are beautiful.
Lillian, we will miss u dearly. You’ve always been there to help and encourage us to be our best. Your smile is contagious and made our days always much better. It was a blessing to meet you and get to know you.
Lil you left us too soon. We will miss your smile and laughter and kindness. Hard to believe you’re gone but won’t be forgotten. I know you will be smiling down at us and protect our neighborhood. Fly high with the Angels.
You were always so amazing to me and my family. The day you brought your daughter over for my grandfather to meet was one of the best days of his life. Alexandra brought him so much joy “goodnight Papou Jimmy”! You always brightened up the room and made everyone feel so welcomed. One of the most kindest hearted person you will ever meet. I hope you are flying high with the angels! Rest easy pretty lady
Lilian … ive known you for 27yrs. You’re an amazing human being, an awesome coworker and such a genuine friend.
Rest my friend.
Love and respect always.
Lillian,
I saw you the most when we worked at Cantel (before it was Rogers) and all I experienced from you is warmth, positivity and your smile! The last few of our recent encounters I noticed you had you the same warmth and kindness. God has a new wonderful angel in town. I know you will be watching over and guiding Alexandra every step of the way. Rest in Heavenly peace now Lilian.
Lil, I can’t believe your gone, you will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you for bringing such joy to my life and the lives of countless others. Thank you for your unconditional friendship, your amazing heart and sense of humour. Goodbyes are so difficult, when the story was not finished.
May God be with you and wrap his arms around little Alexandra and your entire family.
I love you my dear friend.
Dear Sweet Lilian – It has been years and years since we worked together, but I always remember as one of the sweetest people I have ever known.

Dear Alexandra and Family,
The entire Birch Cliff Public School community sends you its love and support.
Meeting Lillian this year was a blessing. She had the most beautiful smile, cheerful laughter, and loving personality.
Lillian is in my prayers. I will remember her fondly as Alexandra’s radiant and joyful mother whose heart was always glowing.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
Lil, I don’t even know where to begin. As friends go, you are the best of them! Your love of all, kindness to all, support of all was second to none. You touched everyone who crossed your path. Your friendship and support to me is something I will value and try to emulate my entire life. From high school, to work, to our shared experiences becoming and being mothers. I treasure that experience. I cannot believe you are gone, and gone far too soon. We had so many laughs, tears, so much shared! We often talked at length about how much we would love our daughters to be close friends, I will do my best to see that through. Alexandra is your gift to us and the world and she has you as her mama and guardian angel. I love you my friend. Bronwen and I will miss you. You made your mark and you will forever be with us, as you were in this life.
To Lilian’s family, and especially Alexandra. I’m a fellow mom at Alexandra’s school, my daughter Grace was in Alexandra’s class in kindergarten. Although I mostly knew Lil from quick chats at birthday party or school drop offs, and I didn’t have the honour of knowing her well, I knew her well enough to know that she embodied kindness and warmth and that she was a wonderful mother. I was so deeply saddened to learn of Lil’s passing. Lilian, I hope you’re at peace and it’s clear you made a deep imprint on the people you love and to Alexandra I pray that you are surrounded by all the right loved ones at this difficult time and that they nurture you through this very difficult challenge. I wish you great strength, and resilience, and that the power of your mom’s love will guide you through to happier days ahead. Anna, Tim, Grace, and Lilah
May you Rest in Peace, so heartbroken you were such a fun loving people person with the best heart for everyone will never forget our days of working together in Kitchener. Sincerest condolences to your family.
Oh, Lillian. I wish I had the chance to spend more time with you. You were an amazing person and I never had a chance to tell you that. I’m heartbroken to learn of your passing, but Jesus has you now and whatever pains you were experiencing here on this earth are no more, thank God. What a blessing it was to have met you at the park two years ago. Those Birchmount park dates with the girls and our mom chats were the best. I loved your energy, enthusiasm and positivity! It was infectious! You were an awesome mommy to Alexandra and I promise I’ll watch out for her alongside your village as best I can. Thank you for touching our lives. All my love to your family and friends and to your sweet Alexandra during this difficult time.
Lillian,
I’m saddened to read this. You were a bright light. I will always remember the ‘giggles’ we shared.
Maureen

Lill – we are so saddened to hear about this devastating loss. We were so fortunate to have had a special friendship with you. We thank you for all of the good memories we experienced and shared together – especially our time in Kitchener, spending an afternoon at the pool and then back at your place for drinks and a delicious bbq meal.
May you rest in peace dear friend. We will always love you.
Lil you always knew how to make people feel welcomed and loved around you. Rest in peace and I’m thankful that our paths crossed during this wonderful journey of life. See you again one day.
Alexandra and my son were in the same daycare together for a time and I got to know Lillian through that, plus birthday parties, the Rogers Christmas party, etc. She was a wonderful woman and a fantastic mother to her little girl. We are so broken up over the news! To Alexandra and all of the wonderful women in her family we had the pleasure of meeting a few times, please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. She will be greatly missed!
My mind just past over you on Monday. Wow way to soon my friend.
Just remembering going to the cottage with my prelude, and your civic. Your laugh will always be remembered, and how you loved to dance.
Till we meet again
Oxoxo
Rest In Peace Lillian. May your bright light and smile live on in your daughter.
I remember Lillian from my 20 years at Rogers. She was such a wonderful person and so very sweet. I am sorry to hear of her passing. Many blessings to her dear daughter, the rest of her family and many friends. She is at peace.
I could not believe this when I heard the news. Lillian, you were always a smiling face and an open heart to those people who were blessed to have known you. I remember our chats at Rogers, chatting about travels, food and shoes. I wish you peace. And may your family find solace in hearing how you touched the lives of so many people in your too short life.
Dearest Aunty Lucille, Alexandra, Audrey, Kevin, and Aunty Ta
We are so shocked and saddened by the news of Lilly’s departure.
Lilly you have left us far too young, but God has His reasons. You will eternally be a Alexandra’s guardian angel. May she know through the amazing circle of loyal and loving friends you have amassed for her, what a clearly, joyful and loving human being you are. I have such fond memories of the many socials, picnics, dances, dinners at Aunty Lucille when we got to laugh, chat and dance, even offering to sit my dog, Pedro at the family and friends picnic. May our blessed Mother Mary wrap you in her gentle mantle and guide you home to God’s loving embrace. And may He comfort all your family and loved ones through the difficult days ahead. With deepest sympathy and loving prayer, Vivienne, Tinky, Juliette and Aunty Doris. Rest in peace sweet Lilly. So sorry we won’t all be able to be there tomorrow to say goodbye.
So very sad to hear this news – Lil was an absolute joy to be around, and had one of the best laughs ever. To be in her orbit was to have light and happiness all around you. She blessed me with a nickname that caught on and stuck for years around Big Red, and was always ready with a friendly word of encouragement and that trademark radiant smile. My sincere condolences to Lil’s family and her treasured daughter – I hope you find some comfort in knowing the incredible positive impact she had on so many in her walk through this life. She’s always been an angel among us, and now I imagine her as the brightest star in the sky. <3
Auntie Lucille, Alexandra and family
I am beyond shocked and sadden by the news of Lillians passing. She was a beautiful soul indeed, inside and out. Although we never really knew each well, she always made me feel like we had known each other our entire lives. I can’t begin to imagine how broken hearted and devastating this loss is to her family especially her Daughter. I am especially saddened that I unfortunetly cannot come in person to pay my respect and say my goodbyes. There are really no words of comfort I could offer that would make this loss feel easier to bare, but do know that I will be thinking and praying for the entire family as you all gather to say your goodbyes to Lillian.
Lillian although you have left us too soon, I hope that where ever you are, that you are at peace and without pain.
Lillian,I will miss our exciting talks about our curly hair and hair products. That conversation is what made us become friends. I always knew when you were in the office as you brought a presence that would light a room. Good bye my friend – RIP and rise in glory !
Lil, you are such a sweet and kind soul. You were always super supportive of me both professionally and personally. I will miss our banter and laughter at the office. I still remember when I couldn’t find a pumpkin for my little guy and you went out of your way to find one and bring it into the office for me. I can’t express what a profound impact you have made on me. I’ll miss your infectious laugh and your beaming smile. I’m truly blessed to have met you.
Lillian is an angel watching over Alexandra now.
I have the privilege to work with Lill when I joined Rogers Head office on a project which extended by Lill and she helped me secure a permanent role. She had been my boss, my mentor, my coach, and my friend.
Today, I came across a wireless mouse she bought me 6 years ago to replace a wired one I was using at park work. I think that’s her way of saying goodbye to me + letting me know that she’s still watching us from above.
Lillian has the kindest heart. She’s the most loving person, a great listener who is so caring to anyone around her especially to Alexandra.
Oh how much she loves Alexandra and will continue to.
I know you are Alexandra’s guardian angel now. Please leave her to us and we will help you take care and support her.
I am so glad our paths have crossed. Rest In Peace Lill, Until we meet again.

Lilian was the best Call Centre manager I ever had, always smiling, laughing, and a ray of sunshine. One of the genuine, kind-hearted people I ever worked with. I’m sure she will be one of the special angels in heaven.
Lucille, Alexandra, Audrey, Kevin & the extended family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of Lillian. May you all find strength & peace in time to come. May she Rest In Peace.
God Bless. 🙏🏽✝️
Your beautiful, kind and generous heart has left its mark on all of us dear Lilly. Although we only spent a few short visits together, your warm personality and beautiful dimpled smile will forever be remembered. May you rest in Peace.
There are certain people you meet in life who leave a lasting impression and smile on one’s face when you hear their name. Lillian is one of those people. Her infectious smile and love of sky high heels were only two parts of what made her wholly awesome.
Gone far too soon. Prayers and condolences in full. She will be so very very missed.
Dear Audrey and Alexandra.
I am truly sorry for your loss.
Lily is a very rare and special angel that is very much loved by everyone she encountered.
Although we only had the opportunity to spend a handful of moments together, I am thankful and feel incredibly blessed with the opportunity to have experienced her beautiful spirit and unwavering kindness.
Lily, you have touched the hearts of all who know you.
You will be missed.
I am not on Facebook any longer, other than using it to wish people a Happy Birthday. As today is Lillian’s birthday, this is how I found out about her passing. I worked with Lillian at Rogers Wireless. We were both Team Managers who reported to the same Operations Manager. We laughed together often and I had pet name for her her “Lala” . She had a wonderful soft voice and lovely smile. She will be missed.
