elevated u8Atw It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lina Da Rosa (nee Maciel) on March 17, 2025, at the age of 82 due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. Lina was a devoted mother to her three sons, a loving grandmother to her four granddaughters, and was well-respected by her three daughters-in-law.

elevated u8Atw Lina and her husband Manuel moved from Pico, Azores, to Toronto to start a new life and raise their family, seeking better opportunities. They were joined by family members and eventually settled in Mississauga after 15 years in Toronto. Lina was deeply involved in the Portuguese Catholic Church (Christ the King) and volunteered at local hospitals, bringing comfort to patients. She worked in several industrial jobs and later as a house cleaner, taking great pride in her work.

elevated u8Atw Lina was passionate about cooking and enjoyed sharing her meals with family and friends. Her happiest moments were spent cooking for her loved ones, and she always sent them home with food. Her legacy of warmth, love, and unforgettable meals will live on in her family’s hearts.

elevated u8Atw Lina will reunite in heaven with her husband – Manuel Da Rosa, who passed away on February 18, 2018. Lina is survived and will be ever remembered by her sons, Victor (wife, Gislaine), Charles (wife, Connie), and Paulo (wife, Colleen), and her granddaughters, Leah, Kaileigh, Emily and Olivia. Her family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
