It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of Loretta Dissanayake on January 8, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 80. Preceded in death by her loving husband Ranjith Dissanayake, Beloved mother to Rochelle, Cindy and her son in laws Gerry and Michel, Loving Grandmother to Marissa, Zoe, Alexandre, Genevieve and Morgan and Cherished sister to Clarine, Royston and Ainsley. Loretta will be deeply missed and held dear in the hearts of her extended family and friends.
Your thoughts and prayers are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Loretta can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation. Mass dedications in her name can be made to the Catholic Monastery, Society of the Little Flowers Perpetual Deceased Mass Card – Society of the Little Flower – Canada.

A dear cousin gone to be with the Angels in heaven. Loretta will be very sadly missed by many but mostly by her loving children Cindy and Rochelle and their families and children, and also her much loved Siblings Royston. We were so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She and your dad were such a kind, caring couple and a huge part of my childhood. I hold many fond memories. I am so happy I saw your mom a few weeks ago. I am so sorry I could not attend the funeral due to weather and distance. Please accept my condolences. Michael wanted me to please express his sympathy, he too has many fond memories of your parents.
