elevated 7keN9 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lorne, who died peacefully on May 18, one day after his 93rd birthday. Lorne will be dearly missed by Rita, his wife of 74 years. Born in Penetanguishene, May 17, 1928, he was the last surviving child of 12 siblings. At a young age he moved to Toronto and prospered. He met Rita while working at St. Mike’s Hospital, as paper boy; they fell in love and at a young age were married. Together they had nine children, losing 2 as babies and raising 7. Their oldest child Carol Ann passed away earlier this year.
elevated 7keN9 Lorne, a successful entrepreneur, started with owning dump trucks before moving on to a fleet of taxis and later a restaurant.
elevated 7keN9 He will be missed. A loving husband, caring father, good provider, and loyal friend.

I send my love and condolences to Rita and the whole family. I had the great pleasure of knowing Lorne and sharing in several family events with the Dubeau’s. He had a warmth that easily filled any space as he shared his gentle, humour and kindness of heart with all. The love he shared with his lovely Rita was inspiring. He will be missed by so many.

We only met Lorne on a few occasions and Diane nd and Lorne had a great conversation when were at his residence. He was a most interesting man telling us about his day in the Taxi business. We send our most sincere condolences to the whole family
