Lucia was a dear and gentle lady, always welcoming, loving and carrying a pleasant smile. She will surely be missed by all who knew her. May God rest her gentle soul and ease the pain of her loss to her dear husband and family.
Dearest Sandra, Dan and family – we are so terribly sorry to hear about Lucia’s passing. She will remain in our hearts and will forever be watching over us with all the other angels in Heaven. Sending you all of our love and prayers.
Our deepest sympathy to Donato, Patrick, Frank, Paolo, Danny and their families. We are so sorry to hear that our dear friend and longtime neighbour has passed away. Lucy was special to us. She made us welcome to Thornhill over fifty years ago. She was a loving friend to us and such a great cook. Our girls are still visiting restaurants trying to find a Lasagna like Lucy’s. We will always have such fond memories of Lucy and her family forever. May Lucy’s Soul Rest In Peace.
Vince wants you to know that he had many good times with Lucia over the years and will always remember her kindness, hard work and devotion to her family. We really tried to drive down today for the Visitation and got halfway down the highway and had to turn around due to so many accidents and road closures. We’re so glad that we had a Christmas visit!
To the entire Di Liddo family (Danny Sr., Pat, Frank, Paolo, and Danny) and all their family members,
We met your family back in 1976 and had the pleasure of growing up alongside the Di Liddo boys and their wonderful parents, Danny and Lucy. We were neighbours in Thornhill, classmates at St. Michael’s, and even served the family through their landscaping business.
For as long as I can remember, whenever we met Lucy, she was always so welcoming—with her warm smile and amazing cooking. Pat and I shared the same birthday, which meant huge birthday parties at the Di Liddo residence, where a birthday celebration was far more than just cake and snacks. It was an Italian feast! Lucy would invite the entire class from St. Michael’s.
Lucy was truly a woman of strength and vitality, who took great pride in her garden. Every spring, as I drove by the house, I’d see her outside tending to her flowers, proudly showing me the new blooms she had just purchased at Woodhill. I was always so impressed by her energy and dedication—still working tirelessly in her garden under the hot sun at the age of 86.
You were all so blessed with a wonderful life together, and your sons were truly proud of her. Thank you for being such an important part of my memories growing up. I speak on behalf of my siblings and parents when I say that the Di Liddos have always been a part of our lives in one way or another.
Wishing Lucy a peaceful journey home and into the gates of heaven, where she will be welcomed with open arms and remembered for the kindness and goodness she shared with everyone.
With our deepest sympathy,
The Ammaturo family
(Donna, Joe, Rob, Tina, and all of our families)
Dearest Di Liddo Families,
Lucia will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched. A remarkable woman who led by example and who knew what mattered most in life: Family, community and faith. We were lucky to have known her and those of you she leaves behind carrying pieces of her. Dan- my brother, we love you. May your mom claim her crown in heaven among all those who served God as did she.
