Obituary

elevated sRf9t It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucia Martin (Campagna), a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born in McKim Township of the Sudbury District, (Ontario) on November 14, 1937, to Umberto and Elvira Campagna. She was a loving wife to her husband Franco for 57 years, a dear mother to Rita (Berardo Graziani) and Roberto, and the beloved nonna of Téana and Tobia. She will be well-remembered by many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and paesani.

elevated sRf9t Lucia was very proud of her family, her work as an educational assistant to elementary aged children with learning disabilities, and her role as an exceptional homemaker. She had a fun-loving spirit and was always up for a good time, whether it was a neighbourhood party, a community event, or just having her family over for dinner.

elevated sRf9t She was an active member of the Eta d’Oro seniors’ group at the Famee Furlane social club with Franco, and the Catholic Women’s League through her parish, St. Margaret Mary. She loved to cook, bake, and make jams and preserves from her elaborate garden and impressive grape arbor. She was incredibly creative and could always be found crafting, specifically working on embroidery projects, painting, drawing, and doing other fun little arts and crafts with her children and later, her grandchildren.

elevated sRf9t Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Avenue) on Monday, January 8 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral mass will take place at the funeral home within the Chapel of St. Joseph on Tuesday, January 9 at 12pm. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Online condolences and directions may be found at www.catholic-cemeteries.com.

elevated sRf9t In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate that donations be made in Lucia’s memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
