Obituary
elevated 7Yez9 Lucia Chow Lo Pui Wah, 96, left us suddenly but peacefully on January 6, 2026 in the comforts of her home. Born on October 12, 1929 to Lo Sau Chee and Lo Choy Suk Yee in Hong Kong, she was the youngest of eight, and to no surprise, was daddy’s little girl. Lucia was forced to terminate schooling during World War II. She had a career in the fashion industry in Hong Kong in the 1960’s up to early 1970’s. At the age of 20, Lucia married her late husband Gabriel Chow, establishing the beginning of her legacy. After Gabriel passed in 1985, Lucia became the matriarch of the Chow family and has been so for the past 40 years. Affectionately known as Poh Poh and Tai Tai, Lucia is survived by her five children, Francis (KK), Margaret (the late Eddie), David (Cat), Helen and Mark, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
elevated 7Yez9 Lucia bravely followed her children and immigrated to Canada at the age of 62. Forced to adapt to an entirely new culture, language and world, she forged on and made friends, got a driver’s license and secretly learned more English than she led others to believe. She was an active member in the Saviour of the World Chinese Catholic Church as a choir member, and at the same time, a home cook spoiling us with her delicious meals and up till her final days, an avid and impressive mahjong player.
elevated 7Yez9 Lucia was a formidable lady, witty, intelligent, beautiful and bold. She has left her mark on this world. We will love and miss her forever.

We met Auntie Lucia at church. She was full of life and love, and is now at peace. She will always be remembered.
Love,
Edith & John
Dear Auntie,
You were more than an aunt to us — you were like a mother. Having lost both of our mothers when we were young, your love, care, and presence filled a place in our hearts that words can hardly express. We were truly blessed to be nurtured by your kindness and guidance.
You were deeply respected and loved in our parish community, where you generously supported the church with your many talents. Through your sewing, singing, and cooking, you served others with humility and joy, touching countless lives along the way.
We miss you dearly and will carry your love with us always. Thank you for the love, strength, and faith you shared with us and with everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. You will be forever remembered, and we look forward with hope to the day we are reunited again in Heaven. May you rest in peace in the embrace of our Lord and His Mother, Holy Mary.
We came to know Auntie Chow through the choir. Not only did she have a youthful, beautiful singing voice, but she also approached every song with great dedication and effort. These were the qualities that drew me to her and filled me with admiration and respect.
She was also gifted in sewing and was an excellent cook. We deeply miss the moments when she laughed and joked with us during activities, fully engaged and full of joy. Her laughter still echoes vividly in our minds.
Thank you for warming our hearts with a motherly love and kindness.
You will always be remembered and missed.
my deepest condolences the loss of your beloved mom, my lovely Auntie Lucia.
We will never forget Auntie, her warmth, smiling face always in our heart.
This is painful time of your mom passed away, her presence will always be felt, continue to surround all of you.
We will always remember Auntie Lucia with love and fondness. Wish her has a peace, joyful life in heaven.
God Bless.
