elevated 8Pksv Passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 8, 2019 in Richmond Hill, Ontario at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Michela Pignatelli. Loving father of Angelo Pignatelli and his wife Rose, the late Lena Pignatelli and Carmine Pignatelli and his wife Rose. Adored grandfather of Lena and her husband Andrew, Alessandra, Luis and Anthony. Dear great-grandfather of Aria Carmelina. Luigi will also be missed by his brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Societa Unita or to Mater Dei Sr. Carmelina’s Home For Women.
With great sadness I write this message. I have known Luigi since I was 16 years old. He, Michelina and my family would visit at least once a week for many years. As soon as he would enter my house he would say in Italian – what is there no coffee expecting me to make it. He was always a hard worker and a strong supporter of his family and friends. When he first saw you he always had a big smile. He was so proud of his family. He has touched many people in his life and I wish for him to rest in peace. I also hope that the beautiful memories will comfort Michelina and his children and grandchildren. Luigi you will not be forgotten.

We have been blessed to have Luigi and Michela as our dear neighbours for 35 years. Their warmth and generosity towards everyone in the neighbourhood was exemplary. Luigi always had a big smile and would greet us over our garden fence whenever we were out there, and happily welcome us to come over. He was a hard-working gentleman, often seen tending his garden, insisting on his daily exercise of walking, and socializing with friends and neighbours. We will truly miss him. Our family offers your our deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with Michela and family.
My sincere condolences and heartfelt prayers to the Pignatelli family. I am going to miss Luigi at Teopoli. Seeing him at all the pilgrimages always made my day. He always greeted me with a smile and a hug. May God rest your soul, Luigi. We love and miss you!
