September 9th, 1938 – July 5th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luigia (Ginetta) Baldesarra (nee Simone) who left us peacefully on July 5th, 2025 at the age of 86 years old. She is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband Antonio (2018). Together they built a life rooted in family, tradition, and generosity. She embraced life with an infectious spirit and a heart full of compassion. Ginetta’s warm laughter and kind soul touched everyone blessed to know her.
Born on September 9th, 1938, in Pescosolido, Frosinone, Italy, to Domenico and Stella Simone. Ginetta’s life was rich in tradition, resilience, and devotion to her family. She was the proud and nurturing mother to Joe (Nadia) and Mike (Rosanne). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Daniel (Sabrina), Christopher (Kelsey), Michael, Matthew, and great grandson Joshua who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She is survived by her siblings Liberata (predeceased Antonio) and Antonio (Carla). She was predeceased by her sister Emilia (and her husband Emilio), Giulio (survived by his wife Maria), Gregorio (Pietrina), and Filippo. She will be deeply missed by all of her nieces and nephews, her extended family, and her many dear friends.
Ginetta will be remembered for her deep love of family, her unwavering strength, and her gift of making everyone feel at home. She found great joy in tending to her garden, cooking her many culinary dishes, baking her famously delicious cookies and treats, or planning her next winter vacation to the sunny south. As we honour Ginetta’s life, we are reminded of the love she freely gave and the warmth she spread — a true gift to all who knew her. Her loving memory will continue to inspire those she leaves behind, as they carry forward her legacy of kindness and joy.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice, in Ginetta’s memory, would be greatly appreciated.
