elevated V1GnE God called Luz Maria Palacio peacefully on January 25, 2024 at the age of 102. She is now reunited in Heaven with her loving husband Jose Miguel Palacio. Cherished by her dear children Melva, Cesar, Gustavo, Marlene, Luis, Miguel Daniel and their spouses. Proud Grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives, and many friends. If so desired, donations in memory of Luz Maria Palacio may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

I have a story I’d like to share of my Grandmother and it’s one of my favourites.
It was the summer of 1995 and I was a 10 year old boy and my family decided we would go to Disney World in Orlando for a vacation. My parents invited Lucita and my uncle Lui to join us.
It was about 40C that week and very humid. She was in her early 70’s. She went on every rollercoaster and ride you can think of with me and my sister and was laughing and smiling the whole time. Didn’t complain once. My Dad asked her if it was too hot and wanted to go back to the hotel. She said, no I want to stay here. And so that’s what we did for the week. She enjoyed cooking for all of us at the hotel and being by the pool for the live music and barbecue they had.
RIP Grandma, and I will remember you always.

I have memories of her exercising by walking back and forth in her backyard on Osler Street in the 1980’s.
She blessed all her kids on their way out……..
