It is with sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Mafalda “Gilda” Maione, in Toronto, surrounded by the love of her family and her caregivers.
elevated 5xdH6 Malfalda was born in Mangone, Cosenza, Italy, to the late Raffaela and Raffaele Gallo. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gaetano Maione, and her siblings Carmino, Dora, Marietta, and Teresina.
elevated 5xdH6 She was a loving mother to Franco (Fiona), Vincenzina (David) and Mario (Stacy). Cherished Nonna to Alyssa (David), Emily (Taylor), Natasha (Azeem), Nico, Michael, Ashley, Sammy and Ryan. Adored Bisnonna to Octavia, Charlotte, Finnley, Benjamin and Sofia.
elevated 5xdH6 Mafalda will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her warm heart, endearing smile and delicious cooking will be dearly missed.

To my beautiful Zia that was more like my second “mom” that I loved more than words could say. She will forever be in my heart and I thank her for loving me as one of her own from the day I was born. Until we meet again Zia Gilda !!! Rest in Paradise & hug my mom for me ♥️ and give Zio a huge hug too 💙
My dear Mama Mafalda I just want you to know how much you meant to me. Caring for you for those 7 years was never just a job you became like a second mom to me. The love, wisdom, and moments we shared will always stay in my heart.
Thank you for trusting me, for your kindness, and for allowing me to be part of your life and your journey. I will always cherish the memories we created together the smiles, the laughter, even the quiet moments.
You will never be forgotten. You are deeply loved and forever missed. Rest peacefully. ❤️
