elevated j1sMQ It is with great sadness and strong faith in the resurrection and eternal life we announce the passing of Maher Hanna Constantine.
Who was called to God’s kingdom at the age of 46 on October 20, 2025.
elevated j1sMQ He is the beloved son of Hanna Constantine and Therese Chidiac (predeceased).
Cherished brother of Najwa Daou (Khattar Maalouf) and Bashir, Milad, Ibrahim, Claude, George, and Ferhane Constantine and their families in Lebanon and Sweden.
Loving uncle of Joe (Stephanie), Michael (Miriam), and Eve-Marianne Maalouf.
elevated j1sMQ He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues and many cohorts of students that he inspired with patience, humour, and a genuine curiosity.

I am the parent of one of Mr. Constantine’s students, and I am very sad about his passing. May his journey be bright, just as he brought light and guidance to his students
Mr. Constantine didn’t teach from a textbook he taught from the heart. And in doing so, he helped rewrite the stories of so many of our lives, including mine.
Like so many others, I still remember the first time I met him. His passion for science was crazy. For a small school like ours having a science teacher with a PhD felt like having a rare gift ! But he never made us feel small. He never let any of us believe we weren’t smart enough, or that we didn’t belong.
I’ll never forget how he used to walk past our desks during tests and make the funniest faces just to break the tension and yell “LA ROUZMEHER” to me. One time he even gently erased one of my answers his way of nudging me that my answer was wrong without ever saying a word. That kind of teaching… it goes far beyond lessons and grades. That was care. That was heart.
When I heard of his passing, my heart broke and I know I wasn’t alone. So many of us felt it deeply because he wasn’t just a teacher to us he was a mentor, a cheerleader, and a friend.
Because of him I pursued my degree in biology and fell in love with exploring the world around me. He made us believe there were no limits to what we could achieve.
I’ve seen so many former students sharing their memories and something beautiful stood out: even across different years and classes there are videos of us all singing him happy birthday, bringing him cake, laughing and celebrating him in English, French, and even our hilariously broken Arabic. That’s just who he was. The kind of teacher who made us love him so much, we couldn’t wait to sing to him every year.
Maher Constantine, you were one of a kind an incredible teacher, a beautiful human, and a true friend. Your impact lives on in every one of us lucky enough to have known you. 🤍
M. Maher était plus qu’un enseignant pour mon fils, il a profondément marqué son parcours. Nous sommes très attristés par cette nouvelle, nous garderons un souvenir reconnaissant de lui. Nos sincères condoléances à sa famille et à toute la communauté scolaire.
Maher, j’ai eu la chance de te connaître alors que nous faisions une formation estivale sur le leadership scolaire.
Ta simplicité, ta tempérance, ton ouverture d’esprit m’ont frappé. D’apprendre que tu étais le frère de ma collègue m’a donné l’opportunité de mieux échanger avec toi.
Ton départ subit m’affecte profondément. Le vide que tu laisses auprès de ta famille, de tes élèves et de ta communauté est immense. Dieu seul sait comment Il pourra le combler.
Je te souhaite un doux repos éternel dans ce paradis où tu nous précèdes.
Mon fils est un étudiant à l’école secondaire Michelle-O’Bonsawin. Il avait hâte d’avoir M. Constantine comme enseignant. Malgré qu’il n’était pas encore son élève, M. Constantine lui disait toujours bonjours avec une belle sincérité. Il est clair qu’il avait un don pour rejoindre les jeunes et qu’il les aimait sincèrement. Il laisse un grand vide à ESMO.

We will forever be grateful to have been his students and to have learned not only through his lessons, but through his wisdom, kindness, and guidance. His impact went far beyond the classroom—he taught us about life, integrity, and perseverance. His legacy will continue to live on in each of us.

Je tiens à offrir mes plus profondes et sincères condoléances à toute la famille de Maher sans oublier toute la grande famille de la communauté de Viamonde pour qui il était bien plus qu’un enseignant pour ses élèves, les parents, collègues et amis.
Son départ laisse un grand vide autour de lui. Rien n’est plus vivant que le souvenir d’un être cher qui a marqué la vie d’un grand nombre de personnes.
Je suis de tout cœur avec vous en ces moments particulièrement difficiles.
Merci d’avoir laissé de si belles traces derrière toi mon très cher Maher, je garderai toujours de bons souvenirs de toi.

He was an incredible teacher. Even though I only knew him for a short time, he made coming to school something to look forward to. No one brought more warmth or smiles to the classroom than he did. May he rest in peace.
M. Constantine était mon enseignant de biologie ce semestre. Il est le meilleur prof que j’ai eu dans ma vie, et il va nous tous manquer à l’école secondaire Michelle-o’bonsawin.

May he rest in peace. He was loved by all and was an extraordinary person. He always had a smile on his face and I am glad to have known him.

Veuillez recevoir toute nos condoléances dans ces moments difficiles.
Non seulement collègue mais aussi enseignant de nos fils, Maher a profondément marqué nos vies. À NOMO, où nous sommes une petite famille, la perte de Maher est très dure. Il avait un don exceptionnel pour enseigner aux élèves, les inspirant à se donner à 100% et développe une complicité avec eux. Toujours souriant et célèbre pour son expression « I don’t know, I don’t care » auprès des élèves , il avait même partagé ses talents de chanteur une fois sur scène, à une fête de Noël à NOMO …c’était une belle personne qui va nous manquer énormément.
