elevated UPxp1 It is with a heavy heart we announce Manuel Ferreira, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 in North York, Ontario.
elevated UPxp1 Manuel was born on November 25th, 1944. In Covao do Lobo, Portugal to Angelino Ferreira dos Santos and Maria Domingues.
elevated UPxp1 Growing up he was a rebel with car racing being his favourite past time. He loved to travel and combined his hobbies by buying his first car in France and driving it to Portugal where he raced it around town. One of his proudest moments was buying the very first Pontiac GTO off the line when he saw it showcased at a car show in 1972. He loved this car so much that it as driven to Montreal and then shipped to France where he picked it up and drove it to Portugal. This was the car used to travel for his honeymoon after he married Maria de Lurdes on December 23, 1972. Eventually they settled back in Toronto and started a family.
elevated UPxp1 Manuel had many roles in his life, from Son, Brother, Husband, Uncle, Father, Father-In-Law, Grandfather, Great Uncle, Godfather and Friend. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children. He was always there for them, whether he was helping them prepare for life or cheering them on as they accomplished life goals.
elevated UPxp1 Manuel is survived by his wife Maria de Lurdes and children, Paul (Andrea), Michael (Magda), and Genny (Gary). He is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle, Ashley, Ashton, Ethan Tru, Olivia and Aiden.
elevated UPxp1 People wishing to honor Manuel’s lifelong commitment to family and community can make donations to the Toronto Cat Rescue or Canadian Lung Association in leu of flowers.
