It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Manuel Mateus Rodrigues (Maduro), who died peacefully on December 25, 2025, in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 92.
Manuel was born on November 15, 1933, in Agualva, Terceira. Above all, he was proud of his family, cherishing the love and bonds they shared. He will be remembered as a hard worker and a storyteller, someone who carried memories, lessons, and laughter through the generations. His presence, warmth, and stories will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Manuel was the loving husband of Clemencia. This coming January, would have marked 70 years of marriage—a remarkable milestone reflecting a lifetime of love, partnership, and shared experiences.
Manuel was a father to Carlos (wife Franca), Olga (husband Tony), and Ana (husband Richard). He was the proud grandfather (vavo) to Angela (husband Ryan), Jessica (husband Sam), Anthony (fiancé Rebecca), Victoria, and Matthew. He was a beaming great-grandfather of Lucia, Mario, Leonardo, and Violetta.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
