elevated SbMVM Marek Jakubczyk, 64, of Woodbridge, Ontario, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 10, 2021. Marek was born in Warsaw, Poland to Henryk and Zofia (Sieminska) Jakubczyk. He spent his early life on a farm and enjoyed fishing with his father. Marek showed an early interest in science experiments and mechanics and knew from an early age that he wanted to be an engineer. Marek was an avid mountain climber and hiker.

elevated SbMVM He was married to Izabella (Trzcinska) in 1985, and together they immigrated to Canada in 1989. Marek was diagnosed with leukemia in 2000. He received a bone marrow transplant from his daughter and went into remission in 2002, however, he continued to suffer from host vs graft disease for the remainder of his life. Marek was a fighter and continued to work, hike, and climb the cliffs at Rattlesnake Point as long as he was able. He is survived by his son Dominic (MyLinh Trinh) Jakubczyk, daughter Agnes (Agnieszka) (Mark) Arias, sister, Ula Jakubczyk, and mother-in-law Wanda Trzcinska. He is predeceased by his wife and his parents.

elevated SbMVM There will be no funeral service due to the pandemic and a funeral mass will be held at a later date. Marek’s remains will be interred at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Woodbridge next to those of his wife.
