elevated gwjTZ Obituary
elevated gwjTZ Our beloved mother Maria Tini Tedjosoengkono passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at the age of 101. She was called home to the Lord surrounded by her loving family.
elevated gwjTZ Born on September 6, 1924, in Jakarta, Indonesia, Tini lived a life rooted deeply in faith and love. Her relationship with God and her devotion to Mother Mary were the quiet foundation of her days. She shared a beautiful and enduring love with her beloved husband, the late Joannes Jahja Tedjosoengkono, with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage. She built a home filled with warmth and care as the mother of 7 daughters, grandmother of 16 grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 27 great-grandchildren. She cherished time with her many dear friends and family members, and loved to chat with them over good food or long-distance phone calls. She is known for her generosity and thoughtfulness as she gave her family the very best of everything, and tended her friendships with utmost care and consideration. Her beautiful smile will be missed by all.
elevated gwjTZ She was predeceased by her beloved husband, whom she affectionately called “Kie,” and by her siblings, whom she also loved dearly.
elevated gwjTZ She is lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Theresia & the late Siang Liong with their families, Helena, Linda & the late Swan Lee with their families, Rita & the late Eng Hien with their families, Cisca & the late Djie Hiang with their families, Sandra & Beng San with their families, and Maria Susan & Chin Liong with their families.
elevated gwjTZ Selamat beristirahat di Rumah Bapa… Mami, Oma, Makcho.

Oma Tini was a woman of deep kindness, humility, and faith. I met her through Bible East, where she shared a beautiful friendship with my late oma, Tjitrawati. Their conversations and shared meals were filled with love.
When she could no longer attend Bible study, I visited her at home. She always remembered my name and would lovingly ask if I had eaten. These small gestures reflected her caring heart. She served others quietly and never wanted to burden anyone.
A woman of prayer, her home felt like a sacred place, filled with rosaries, saints, and the presence of God.
I am grateful and blessed to have known her.
Rest in peace, dear Oma Tini. May you now dwell in eternal joy with our Lord Jesus.
Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, for their deeds follow them.

We remember Oma as a generous, steadfast woman with a warm smile and a sense of humor that could put anyone at ease—across languages and across distances, reaching people as easily through a video call as it did around her table. Dan’s wife, Stephanie, often recalled how struck she was by Oma’s strong spirit and the bright light in her eyes. Rob, Steph’s husband, shared that even from afar, Oma had a way of making you feel cared for.
Oma expressed her generosity through the abundant food she prepared for family and guests. She loved to cook, and she loved feeding people even more. No one left her table hungry, and everyone left her home with a full heart.
We’re grateful she was able to meet our respective families—both in person and virtually—before she passed. We find comfort knowing that her legacy lives on in her great-grandchildren: Dillon, Lucas, Connor, and Noelle. Her great-grandchildren, along with all of us, will forever cherish the memories we hold of her.
May she rest in peace.
In loving Memory of
TANTE TINI
