Arlete, I miss you already. You were so kind and special. I was proud to call you a family friend of over 50 years. Heaven has a new angel. Rest easy my friend, your work here is done.

Arlete was a dear soul and will be greatly missed by many who lived in the Lewis Garnsworthy Seniors Retirement Residence. My prayers and thoughts are with you all as you learn to cope without your beloved Arlete. Blessings.

I feel honored to have been the one to take care of you. It’s impossible to describe the feeling of being trusted to care for someone as special as my Vo Vo. I will be forever grateful for the time I spent with you, as you gave my life purpose, and to finally have purpose made me feel happiness like I’ve never felt before. It brings me peace to know that your up in heaven with my dad, your youngest son, and Voo Voo your husband, and all of your friends and family. May you Rest In Peace, I’ll never forget our special time together ❤️
You will be very missed. The love you held for your family, especially your grandchildren will be cherished forever. You have always tried to pull me out of my shell and continue to be upbeat. I will continue to try. Your smile is like sunshine that brightens up every room you were in. You are now at peace and have earned your wings. We love you.

Hello my special BFF. I just wanted to thank you for giving me so much knowledge and wisdom to have at such amazing and agonizing times. I am both very sorry and grateful for everything I have done in 28 years. I am so proud to have been raised by such amazing people. Thank you for everything, wishing I could have done a better job at being there for you as you were for me through your most difficult days and nights of suffering, you were there for me you always were, hoping to see you in heaven one day, if I end up anywhere else, that would be my own consequence based on my own choices, love you Va VA ❤️ RIP 🙏
Our sincere condolences to all of Arlete’s family, friends and neighbors as we all process her loss to each of us.
Arlete was such a loving, giving, and uplifting soul to everyone and lived her life in the Joy of service to God. We will always cherish her friendship and fellowship living together at St.Hilda’s Towers.
May all of us who loved her, honor her spirit by bringing the love she taught us into our own lives.
May she rest in peace and her memory always be a blessing.

She always had a smile on her face when she came into Church on Sunday mornings, and it was a pleasure to speak with her.
May she “Rest in Peace” and “Rise in Glory”, and her family find comfort in all the memories they have of her.
I would like to share some fond memories of Arlete Quintal.
She was an inspiring woman; devout, graceful, caring, resourceful, and always fashionable. Most importantly, her main priority was her family. She took care of everyone around her all the time.
To me, she was a wonderful mother in law. Some of my favorite moments with her were the days we spent in the kitchen. She taught me so many tips, tricks and Portuguese recipes. These recipes are now amongst my children’s favorite dishes. I always think of her when I’m cooking for my family. Especially when I make her special “seaweed soup” as the kids call it!
We spoke alot about God and religion. No matter what someone’s beliefs were,she would always be tolerant, respectful and kind, even when our family dinners got very lively! It always ended with love and acceptance.
To my children, she was an amazing grandmother. Always present, I never had to beg her to babysit because she loves her grandchildren so much you could not keep her away. This is something I will miss forever. She was completely engaged and played with all the children as much as she could. They felt listened to and loved. They had so many tea parties, read many stories, went to church and were so excited at the mere mention of going to vovos house. I will even miss the daily phone calls in Portuguese. For the record I don’t speak Portuguese! Thanks to her I understand it very well now. I would also like to thank her for the unforgettable trip we had to Madeira. We had the time of our lives there and got to experience our roots, with Arlete. She was truly the pillar of this family. Although I am devastated by this loss, I am so grateful to have had her in our lives.

I came across Mrs. Quintal obituary by chance and I can’t believe that she is gone. She taught me in kindergarten at st. Lucy’s in Toronto with Ms. Quigley back in 1977. She was such a nice teacher. After all these years I still remember those great times. Her student Christine Carreiro my maiden name. RIP Ms. Quintal
