elevated IeGgt Cavallini, Maria,

elevated IeGgt Peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 30, 2022 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of 65 years to Angelo. Caring and devoted mother to Ermete Matthew (Lina), Franca (David), Modestino (Shelley), David (Marisa) and Gaetano (Stephanie). Proud Nonna to Emanuela, Daniel, Maria, Angela, Tayna, Angelo, Matthew, Mariangela, Joseph, Daniella, Sarah and Sophia and Bisnonna to 9 great grandchildren.  Loving sister to Angelo (Lucia), the late Gaetano (the late Carmela) and the late Antonio (Maria). Maria will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

elevated IeGgt Maria Baldassarre emigrated to Canada from Montefalcione, Italy in 1957, at the age of 16 with her brothers. She was soon followed a year later by her fiance Angelo Cavallini. They married in January 1959, at St. Thomas Aquinas church in Toronto, Ontario.    Her family was the center and most important aspect of the life she lived, and she worked tirelessly  in support of any family goal.  Together they raised 5 children in a warm and loving home.  While her new home was in Canada, Maria joyfully brought all her precious traditions with her. She was fiercely loyal to those she loved. Maria took many opportunities to return to her town which she always held close to her heart.  Maria had an intuitive gift with children, and in fact her joy was obvious anytime she held or played with one.  She was a devoted wife, mother, nonna, and finally bisnonna.  Maria nourished everyone she met with great food, love, by actively filling whatever need arose. Her strong faith in turn nourished her. She befriended and welcomed with love all those she came in contact with. Her generosity and kindness will be greatly missed, by all who knew her.
