elevated CJPTd It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful angel, Maria Delfina Carvalho, on October 31st, 2026, at the age of 68. Delfina peacefully passed away in the comforting embrace of her two loving daughters.

elevated CJPTd Born on April 9th, 1958, in Santa Cruz, Madeira, to the late Maria and Francisco Carvalho, she leaves behind her beloved husband of 47 years, Justino Carvalho; her cherished daughters, Stephanie and Tanya; and her adored grandchildren, Selena, Christian, and Valentina. She will also be lovingly remembered by her extended family and the countless friends whose lives she touched throughout her journey.

elevated CJPTd For over 30 years, Delfina faced life’s greatest challenges with extraordinary courage and strength. Beginning her cancer journey at just 34 years old, she endured six battles with cancer, countless chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and two life-saving bone marrow transplants. Yet, through every difficult chapter, she refused to let her circumstances define her or diminish her joy for life. She chose hope over fear, found reasons to smile through the hardest days, and remained steadfast in her faith. She was, and always will be, our incredible warrior.

elevated CJPTd Beyond her remarkable resilience, Delfina was a woman whose kindness, generosity, and beautiful spirit made her truly one of a kind. She was the steady heart of her home, finding her greatest happiness in the love of her family. An incredible wife, mother, devoted vovó, sister, tia, and friend, she would do anything for those she loved. Her strong, guiding hands were always there to lead, comfort, nurture, and care for those closest to her. This was especially evident in the unconditional love and devotion she had for her grandchildren.

elevated CJPTd Delfina also had a remarkable creative spirit and a gift for making beautiful things. Whether creating intricate needlepoint tapestries, showcasing her exceptional seamstress skills, or putting together beautiful floral and decorative arrangements, she found joy in bringing her creative visions to life. She had an undeniable passion for fashion, shopping, and all things style. Even throughout the most challenging periods of her illness, she never allowed it to take away the things she loved or her desire to look and feel her best. Her impeccable sense of style was simply another reflection of her vibrant personality.

elevated CJPTd She was equally at home in the kitchen, where she could always be found preparing delicious meals and bringing everyone together around the table. Cooking was one of the many ways she expressed her love, and her famous tiramisu will forever be remembered as one of the sweetest treats she shared with those fortunate enough to enjoy it.

elevated CJPTd Those who knew Delfina often described her as an angel, and for good reason. She possessed a rare kindness and natural grace that made everyone feel welcome and loved. Her beautiful smile, warm presence, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was deeply loved by her family, cherished by her friends, and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

elevated CJPTd Delfina taught us that true strength is not measured by the absence of suffering, but by the courage to keep going, the grace to keep smiling, and the faith to never give up. She never lost her smile, even when life gave her every reason to cry. She never lost her hope, even when the road ahead was uncertain. And she never lost her faith, even through the longest and most difficult battles.

elevated CJPTd Delfina was truly a blessing to this world, and anyone who had the honour of knowing her understands just how special a soul she was. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, kindness, and unwavering faith. Although our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort knowing that after a lifetime of fighting, she has finally laid down her burdens and surrendered into God’s loving hands.

elevated CJPTd May she now rest in the eternal embrace of our Lord, free from pain and suffering, surrounded by the angels of Heaven. Her strength will forever inspire us, her kindness will forever live within us, and her love will forever be our greatest blessing. Everything she taught us and everything she gave us will live on through the generations she leaves behind. Forever our angel.
