elevated dYp1X It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Domenica, who was called to her eternal home peacefully and surrounded by her family on July 23, 2025 at the age of 100. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Pietro, son-in-law Angelo, and siblings Maria, Fiorina, and Franco. She is survived by her youngest sister Loreta.
elevated dYp1X Maria was a devoted mother to Connie who will treasure her memory deeply. She was a proud and loving Nonna to Lenny (Lynn) and Piero (Mary), and cherished every moment with her great granddaughters Alissa (Kristopher), Andrea, Vanessa, Samantha, and great great grandson Cayden.
elevated dYp1X Maria loved sharing stories and reminiscing about the old days. She found joy in playing cards, gardening, bocce, bowling, and gathering with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

My deepest condolences and sympathy go out to the Sarracini and the Occhiogrosso families respectively – In particular to my dear cousin Connie and her sons Lenny & Piero.
My Zia Maria Domenica, or Zia “MAGOO” as I affectionately knew her for the majority of my life, was an extraordinary woman.
She was, to me, the “general” of the Di Prospero clan – strong in character and conviction and equally as strong in heartfelt love and compassion for others.
Coming to a foreign land at a young age, presented with the obstacles of language and at times discrimination against Italians, she let nothing and more importantly “no one” stand in her way.
She extracted the most out of life and shared its bounty with her family and friends.
My wife Maryam, who knew her but a short time, embraced and cherished the times spent visiting “Zia Magoo”.
I will miss her, more than I could ever adequately express in words here.
Take into your arms our Lord this blessed angel “Magoo”.

Dear Connie, Lenny, Piero and family, my deepest condolences on the passing of our families matriarch. She was so special to you guys but to me she was extra special because of all the times she spent with us when we arrived from Italy. Taking us everywhere and always making it exciting and fun. She helped her sisters and brother-in-laws succeed in this country and helped out by finding them jobs and getting them on their feet.
She was a great example to all of us on how to work hard and enjoy life. Endless dinners every Sunday, taking turns at each of the homes. Cottage weekends enjoying bocci and barbeques and of course cards. Zia I will always love you and remember you with all your stories. Rest easy now with Zio and your siblings, son-in-law, parents and my dad. Love you forever! Maria & Vito and family
MY ZIA WAS A ROCK IN OUR FAMILY – THE ELDEST OF 4 SISTERS AND ONE BROTHER THEY ALL ADORED – SHE WAS THE PADENA TO MY BROTHER ERNESTO WHICH SHE AND ZIO PIETRO TREATED LIKE THEIR OWN SON AND SPOILED HIM IN ITALY GROWING UP.
