elevated wA6UA It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Maria Ida Miniaci, who departed this world on Friday, August 8, 2025 surrounded by her family.
elevated wA6UA Born on April 4, 1937 in the small town of Carolei, Cosenza, Italy, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ippolito and Maria Fata. Rooted in a strong family and deep faith, her early life in Italy shaped the values of hard work, resilience, and compassion that she carried with her throughout her life.
elevated wA6UA Our mom was the devoted wife of our late father Giuseppe Miniaci, who predeceased her on April 5, 2002. Together, they raised a loving family and shared decades of companionship, laughter, and enduring love.
elevated wA6UA She will be forever remembered by her loving children, Frank (Natalie), Luisa (Roberto), Silvio, Mary (Mike), and Mirella (Marcello). Her legacy continues through her adored 13 grandchildren and their spouses, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
elevated wA6UA She is lovingly remembered by her surviving brothers, Joe Fata (Lina), and Pasquale Fata (Maria), and is now reunited with her dearly missed sister, Elena Arlotta.
elevated wA6UA A woman of grace, warmth, quiet strength and an ever-present smile, she was known for her devotion to family and her steadfast presence in the lives of those she loved. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a family deeply grateful for her guidance, sacrifices, and unconditional love.
elevated wA6UA Though she will be missed beyond words, Ida’s spirit will live on in the traditions she passed down, the stories she shared, and the hearts of all who knew her.

Nana, you have been the heart and pillar of our family, guiding us with your love and holding us together through every silent prayer held in your heart. From your gentle wisdom to your warm hugs and cheeky kisses, you blessed us with a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will live in our hearts forever. We will miss your pasta simmering on the stove, the smell of sauce filling the air, and the way your cooking brought us together around the table as much as your love did. Though we miss you beyond words and feel the deep loss of our family’s monarch, we take comfort knowing you are now side by side with our Papa and your dear sister, wrapped in God’s warm embrace, and watching over us from heaven. Until we are all together again, we will honor you in the way we love, the way we gather, and in every cherished memory that keeps you alive in our hearts.

I was very fortunate to have known the unconditional and generous love that Frank’s mom had for me. I was a witness of her love and devotion to her son, her other children, grandchildren, great grand children and her great great grandchild and I am absolutely certain that she loved me too.
When she sat you down on her little couch and held your hand and smiled into your eyes it was like a warm blanket wrapped around the both of us. She had a way of making you feel very special and in that moment, there was no one else she wanted to be with. There was no distraction, just pleasure being in your company.
Maria Ida’s loving and kind manner is still alive in all her children. Their unexpected demonstration and statements that they love me, still after all these years surprises me and I love them so much for that. Frank, Luisa, Silvio, Mary and Mirella are Mom’s legacy and in them her kind and loving nature will carry on.
We all recently received a special gift and opportunity to take care of Mom. Her health had been declining, and she need twenty-four-hour care. All her children shared in taking care of her, although Mirella bore the lion’s share…thank you Mirella. During that time, we were able to spend some one-on-one meaningful moments when she had more clarity and strength.
Mom often showed me the old picture albums, and I knew she would enjoy sharing them with me again. On that afternoon when I was caring for her, she would tell me stories about the pictures we were looking at. I would ask her how old she was, who she was with and what was happening in the picture. She would ramble on (mostly in Italian) and she was quite content reminiscing in those long ago memories. We had a great afternoon that day and it was not that long ago in June.
Mom was a beautiful young woman in those photos, and you can see her beauty has passed onto her children and their children. Mom was dignified and always a proper lady.
Her grace and kindness were prevalent all the time and she always opened her arms and home to everyone no matter how difficult it was for her. She loved to cook for her family and that was her “hobby”. It was simple food – no pretense, but it was quality and it was deliscioso!
I am so happy that Frank Miniaci and his mother and family are in this stage of my life. I am really lucky that Frank and I can rely on his brother and sisters for anything and we are there for them as well. This show of commitment was nurtured by Mom to love and support each other no matter what.
I want to thank you Mom for that gift of love you generously gave me. I am relieved and happy that your suffering is over. Your quiet strength, grace and dignity and most of all generous love will be missed by us all.
Good bye our sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, auntie and sister, and rest in peace with your husband, friends and family in heaven.
