elevated RttOJ Obituary
elevated RttOJ It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Maringola. Maria was predeceased her cherished husband of nearly 65 years, Armando. She is survived by their loving children Michael (Luisa), Mirella, Paul (Angie), and Peter. Maria was also adored Nonna to Alexandra (Amir), Vanessa (Adam), and Matthew.
elevated RttOJ She is survived by her loving sister, Vittoria and loving brother Vincenzo and will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Raffaele and Francesca Fallico, and siblings Lina, Francesco, Gaetano, Marchella and Emma. Maria will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
elevated RttOJ Maria was born on September 22, 1934 in San Vincenzo La Costa Cosenza, Italy. It is there that she met her adoring Armando, began courting him in 1951 and married him on January 8, 1956. Armando and Maria immigrated to Toronto, Canada in May 1957 where they made a home for themselves and their children.
elevated RttOJ Maria was a woman of tremendous courage, moving to a new country. Without a formal education and without speaking a word of English, she worked very hard to support her husband and children, providing a beautiful home full of memories which we all cherish. Maria and Armando also enjoyed working in their vegetable garden and making improvements to their home. Maria also loved making homemade pasta, sausage and tomato sauce for her family. She leaves behind an incredible legacy. She touched everyone she met with her gentle, kind soul and never wavered in her willingness to help anyone in need. Mama you are forever in the hearts.
elevated RttOJ A sincere thank you to the nurses and doctors at St. Joseph Health Centre especially Dr. Varga, family physician Dr. Caterina Mastrogiacomo, cardiologists Dr. Richard Choi and Dr. Ronnen Maze, eye specialist Dr. Fareed Ali and endocrinologist Dr. Donna Arab-O’Brien for their compassion and assistance in caring for our mother.
elevated RttOJ In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospital for Sick Children in Maria’s memory.

If Rose’s grow in heaven Lord,
please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her that I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her
for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy, I do it
every day, but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away.
My dearest friend Mirella, Peter, Paul and Mike.
My deepest condolences.
