It is with deep love and profound sadness that the family of Maria Regina Antunes-Collier, age 80, announces her peaceful passing in Canada after a courageous battle with health challenges over the past six months.
Maria Regina lived a life centered on family, resilience, and quiet strength. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Surrounded by her family in the final chapter of her life, she remained a guiding presence—offering wisdom, comfort, and love until the very end.
She is lovingly survived by her mother Maria Zita (101 years old), her two daughters Natalie and Louise, her two sons-in-law Kurt and Mario, and her four cherished grandchildren Ashleigh, Caileigh, Matthew and Ela, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Their lives are forever enriched by her gentle spirit, her kindness, and the many memories she leaves behind.
Her suffering has ended and she is now able to rest in Peace with her Father and Brothers.
Maria Regina will be remembered for her compassion, her faith, and the deep love she shared with her family. Though she will be greatly missed, her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and medical staff who supported her with dignity and compassion throughout her final months.
Strength and courage were the qualities I admired most in my mom. Throughout her life, she faced every hardship with grace and an unwavering spirit. No matter what challenges came her way, she never gave up. She was one of the strongest woman I have ever known. Her resilience, her warmth, and the way she kept moving forward continue to inspire me. I will carry her strength with me for the rest of my life. She will be deeply and dearly missed.
Funeral arrangements for Maria are being privately held and entrusted to Assumption Catholic Funeral Home.

Auntie Maria was one of the kindest courage’s and loving person you could ever wish to meet her devotion to her family was there for all to see and her general love for life I will miss you so much thank you for the wonderful memories you have given to not only me but every body your lovely soul came into contact with Rest easy auntie until we meet again your memory will be honoured and not forgotten love your nephew John
We are so happy you got to spend time with mom this summer! She always loved her family in the UK ( hense why still Collier ) & now she can go be with Uncle Dave her “gentle gaint” & Auntie Joan ❤️

Maria it was a pleasure to have met you, I loved our little chats and will always treasure the jumper you gave me when I was cold during my last visit to Canada. You fought a strong fight over the last few months- you didn’t lose the fight you’re just resting waiting for the family to be altogether again in another place. I have shed a tear for you and was heartbroken that I wasn’t able to come in the summer with John saying goodbye over video call was hard … but shortly after the call to tell us you had gone, we know you popped by Dagenham on your way to your next adventure. You rest easy lovely lady ❤️

blessing to have you part of mom’s final months via video chats ! She adored you and spoke very highly of you ! Having your husband come over to visit we know wouldn’t of been possible without you so for that we are forever grateful that Mom’s final months were truly with family ❤️
