elevated ChAkK It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Maria, surrounded by her family in hospital on April 3, 2018 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband Antonio. Loving mother of Valerie (Donato), Anthony (Denise) and Peter (Wanda). Cherished grandmother “nonnie” of Lori (Tony), David (Jennifer), Michael (Adele), Christopher, Stephanie (Glenn), Marie and Mark. Beloved great-grandmother “big nonnie” of Anthony, Michael, Christina, Amanda, Vanessa, Alyssa, Gianluca, Tyson, Owen, Shaughnessa and Brianna. Predeceased by her 5 siblings. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Maria was born in Fossacesia, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1948 and led a full and wonderful life.
elevated ChAkK The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. The final rite of committal and entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (8361 Yonge Street Thornhill). As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Sick Kids Hospital.
