elevated dFt0A It is with deeply saddened hearts that we share the news of our beloved Maria Spensieri passing away peacefully early this morning, July 9, 2025, in her sleep at the Norfinch Care Community in Toronto, where she resided for the last year. She was born on November 28, 1931 in Vinchiaturo, Molise, Italy and was in her 93rd year of life.
elevated dFt0A She was predeceased by her parents Rosa and Antonio Iaizzo, siblings John, Mario and Cristina and her first husband Michele Di Biase, and nephew Anthony Iaizzo. She was also predeceased by her son Anthony Spensieri (and his wife Anna), husband Domenico Spensieri and son Michael Spensieri who she will now be reunited with in heaven.
elevated dFt0A Maria was a kind, gentle and loving woman who touched many people with her genuine warmth and compassion. Her personality was welcoming, her smile was radiant and affectionate and she was loved by all those who had the opportunity to experience her positive and uplifting presence.
elevated dFt0A She went through many challenges, losses and transitions in her long life but always maintained a good spirit and love for all her family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Phyllis De Berardis and husband Robert, daughter-in-law Mary Spensieri, sister Rosa Di Biase and husband Benito and sister Anna Braccio. She will also be remembered by her cherished grandchildren: Carlo, Laura, Amalia, Michael Jr., Angela, Paul and Stefano. She loved and enjoyed seeing and having visits from her many nieces and nephews as well as her numerous great-grandchildren who she adored with immense affection.
elevated dFt0A Many thanks to the caring health care providers, personal support workers, nurses, other nursing home staff and doctors at the Norfinch Care Community who looked after her day and night, with compassion and warmth in the last year of her life.
