elevated dpOF3 It is with sadness that we announce the passing away of Maria Nicola Varone on October 13, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 73. Beloved wife of 56 years to Ottavio. Caring and devoted mother to Joseph, Cathy (Jason) and the late Tony (Anna). Proud Nonna to Mia, Stephanie, Ethan and Lauren. Maria will be remembered in the hearts of many family and friends. elevated dpOF3 The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00 -8:00 on Sunday October 17, 2021 and on Monday October 18, 2021. Private Mass of Christian burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Tuesday October 19 2021 . There is a special place in my heart for Maria Nicola. Zia Fillippa, her mother, was a strong presence in my life. She loved my father like a brother. We can never forget her help while he was sick. She is remembered with much love.
Maria Nicola and I have a past together in Villavallelonga. I have memories of us as children running through the town and playing games and putting on shows in the barn.
We are heartbroken by Maria Nicola’s passing. She is gone too soon. We will miss her welcoming smile and warm demeanour. RIP
