elevated sjkuq Marie Therese Leila Tadros passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the age of 89. Leila was predeceased by her beloved husband Samy, whom she married in 1951 in Cairo. Leila and Samy have left behind their adult children, Mona (Steven) and Nabil (Deborah), as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Leila was predeceased by her older sister Rosette and 2 older brothers Salah and Richard. Leila was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1930 to parents Victoria and Youssef Boustany, and immigrated to Toronto from Alexandria in 1964. She worked hard at various jobs in Toronto and Quebec City to help support the family. Leila finally found her calling back in Toronto as a French teacher in the North York Board of Education. While teaching full time, along with her beloved cousins, they finished off their grade 12 and 13, their bachelor’s degrees from the University of Toronto, and their teaching certificates through Brock University. After retirement she could be found travelling the world and spending every summer in Spain. Leila loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Always the life of the party, the hostess with the mostest, talented seamstress, cook extraordinaire, avid swimmer, lover of all creatures big and small, she embodied a “joie de vivre” and a wonderful sense of humour that will truly be missed. A caring, generous, unselfish and big-hearted woman, who lived life to the fullest, and she did it her way. Donations can be made to Mona and Nabil to support Leilas 2 favourite charities in Egypt. Fr Khouzams orphanage in Luxor and Fr Bishois church in Asyout. The family would like to acknowledge the kind and compassionate caregivers at Langstaff Square unit 3a.
