elevated xUmuP Obituary
Marija Raisp, Richmond Hill, Ontario
elevated xUmuP After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, Marija was called home to her Heavenly reward on November 10, 2025 to join family and friends who are awaiting her in Heaven. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was very passionate about her family, as well as gatherings at home and at the cottage. In light of modest beginnings in her native Croatia, she was always inspired to ensure that her family in Canada was well loved and nurtured. She was a lovely, compassionate soul who will be deeply missed.
elevated xUmuP Marija was dearly beloved by her husband Frank, who treasured their 63 years of marriage. He always affectionately acknowledged her as his “Lubicja“(sweetheart). Our family is eternally grateful to our dad, who always provided such a loving and safe home for our dear mother, as she endured many years of such a crippling disease.
elevated xUmuP Marija was also cherished by her loving children Robert (Catherine), Ina (Edward in Spirit) and William. She was also very proud of her precious grandchildren, Thomas and Victoria.
elevated xUmuP The family would like to offer our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dom Lipa and their wonderful staff for providing such excellent care for Mom, over the final 21 months when our family needed them the most. Truly God sent us His most compassionate souls and we will always be grateful!
elevated xUmuP Family and friends are invited to share their prayers and memories, during visitation at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home,
elevated xUmuP In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to Dom Lipa (Slovenian Linden Foundation).

Dearest Stric Branko, William, Ina, Thomas, Victoria, Robert & Catherine,
My heart goes out to you all.
Teta Marija holds such a special place in my heart. She looked after me before I started kindergarten, and I still remember how she cared for me alongside Willy, showing no difference between us — she treated me like her own. We’d spend our days playing outside, tending to the gardens and laughing at reruns of I Love Lucy, while sharing a box of Toffifee (though she’d still deny ever putting the entire box in my lap!).
Her hugs were always warm and waiting for me, her fried chicken and homemade soup pure comfort. Food was truly her love language. I’ll never forget the magic she brought to family gatherings — especially at Christmas, when the house was filled with Christmas music, family laughter, decadent pastries, and that yearly moment when “Santa” would knock on the window. She’d find the brightest star and tell me Santa was passing overhead. I fell for it every time, and it was wonderful.
She had a presence that could fill a room, but somehow, she always made me feel seen. I will miss her warmth, her humor, and her embrace. She will forever be a part of my happiest childhood memories.
All Our Love,
Sandy, Danielle, Matthew & Robert
Robert & Catherine & Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Marija. I offer this quote from author, Helen Keller, which may provide some comfort in your times of grief:
“What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved
we can never lose,
for all that we love deeply
becomes a part of us.”
Dear Ina and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved
mother, Marija. Living with Alzheimer’s is a challenging journey, both for the person and the family who loves them. Your mother was cherished by her family and that love will always remain a beautiful part of her memory.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May you find comfort in your memories and strength in the love that surrounds you.
Heartfelt sympathy,
Dear Branko , Ina (Thomas & Victoria) Robert(Catherine) and William
God’s love and grace are always with you. Please accept our condolences and may our prayers help comfort you.
We’re praying that the light of God’s grace lessen the darkness of your grief. Your loss deeply saddens us; may our prayers guide her soul to our Heavenly Father.
Robert , Catherine, Ina and William , our deepest condolences to all of you may your mother rest in our good Lord arms.
For I am convinced that neither death , nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers , nor height, nor depth , nor anything else in all creation , will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord
To Rob and family
So sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother
Our heart felt sympathy
May it give you comfort to know that She is at peace in the hands of God’s hand.
Blessings to you all
